Where has Queen Alfsigr gone...? : (

I've come across an odd bug which is a new one to me.

When I join The Battle of Whiterun, my horse Queen Alfsigr vanishes. If I leave her waiting outside the main gates before the battle, she literally vanishes right in front of my eyes when I exit the city.

I've tried telling her to wait at some location away from the battle (using Simplest Horses) and I've tried various console commands to get her back. Nothing works, it's like she's just vanished off the face of Tamriel.

I can get a "new" Queen Alfsigr using placeat in the console, but annoyingly she was carrying a load of stuff in her inventory which I don't want to lose. So I'm resorting to going back to a pre-battle save, taking everything out of her inventory, and then using placeat to respawn her after the battle.

Just curious to know if anyone else has experienced this, or even found a less clumsy solution.

Yep done all that. Moveto does nothing, as if she died during the battle. Except that A; She's marked essential, and B; I've played through the battle about 6 times trying to work out what's going on, and it's exactly the same each time. Also I've tried havinig her wait, miles away from the battle. And lastly, when I exit Whiterun gates to join the battle, she's there for just a second or two before vanishing on the spot.

If I try to teleport myself to her, I get placed under the archway just up the road from the stables, but she's not there.

I've been googling this, and found just one similar thread from 2012. I also read that AE has some bug where NPCs will spawn underground for some reason or other, maybe that's connected.

No idea lol. All very Skyrim haha. I'm going ahead with Plan B ... take everything out of the inventory, fight the battle, then respawn her.

She's back!!

I finished the battle. Went and did a quick side quest, fought a dragon, then fast travelled back to Whiterun and there she was waiting outside the main gate.

I don't know if it was just that I waited, or maybe fast travelling sorted it. Yay anyway.
