thestaub Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Okay, so I've encountered a strange bug that I have not yet found a solution on, nor did I find anything searching this forum or google (granted I did not search to the last site). Whenever I open the in-game Menu I have a high pitched buzzing/whirring sound in the Quest Tab of the menu, and only there. It's less in the middle menu tab and there's none of it in the System Tab.I recently had to update my graphics card since my old one died on me and I did a clean reinstallation, only using a very selected amount of mods (8 or so), none of them altering any sounds whatsoever.Inventory works fine, everything else does. Only when I bring up the quest menu.I own Skyrim with all Addons, running on ai7-2600KAsus Mainboard8Gb RAMNvidia GTX 770 I attached a gif of my mods list from NMM, it's checked with BOSS which said no problems at all.I also checked my Sound Settings already, they are on 44100Khz 16Bit as suggested in many topics related to other sound issues with skyrim. The problem is not really gamebreaking but incredibly annoying, so I'm hoping someone experienced this and can help me. Best regards.
Georgiegril Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Have you tried updating/reinstalling the drivers for your new sound card? Also, can you check to be sure steam and skyrim are showing your new sound card and not the old one?
thestaub Posted September 29, 2013 Author Posted September 29, 2013 (edited) Though it was the grapics card that changed that may be a point, since I'm using the HDMI Output, which is connected to a soundsystem, which is pluged into my tv. I tried that (just now) and it didn't help. What I also found is a graphics glitch when I look straight up and move (black flickering parts on the screen). Not sure if that is Mod related or something else, so there's to be looking into that.I thought, maybe there is a connection between using the HDMI Out for sound/video, so I tried using my PC-Speakers, but no change there. Anyway, I'll keep looking / testing, but thanks for your advice. Edited September 29, 2013 by thestaub
