tnu
OK so i'm building a homestead in Falkreath and am undecided as to what additions to get but that's not really the heart of my question. WHat I want is an opinion on whether it would make any roleplaying sense to build the upstairs beds if I decide to get the bedrooms in the west wing. Hyacathusarullistad
I don't think having a set of bedrooms in the west wing makes gameplaying sense, never mind roleplaying. Before you build any of these wings you need to build the main hall. The main hall comes equipped with three readily available beds. To then add a wing solely dedicated to adding yet more beds only makes sense if you intend to have multiple followers calling this homestead their home as well. Which is still rather limited, as it then becomes a free-for-all for bedspace. So really, in my opinion? No, there's no roleplaying sense in getting the west wing bedroom. Lord Garon
^^ Disagree a little. I use the west wing just for an adopted kid's bedroom; is a good roleplay choice, for me. I know you can put the kids upstairs, but, what the heck; its my vision of a big house. After so long in Breezehome (just about the only house I ever bought), Lakeview is almost too big and too well stocked; I limit what I put in the place. Can't imagine building another homestead elsewhere.
Lachdonin
Typical manor houses would provide residence for the lord, his family, and their necessary serfs. For a fully upgraded manor in Skyrim, you are looking at your PC, your spouse, 2 children, your steward, a bard and the carriage driver, that's 6 bodies, not including housecarl's and guards. Fully upgraded, you have 10 bed slots. A dedicated area for the lordly family is perfectly normal, especially considering the small area you are dealing with. The bed in the entrance way is the most reasonable for guards, with the Steward having the double bed in the loft bedroom, leaving the two singles for your Bard and Driver.
