Wow! More great screenies. Thanks Atti :P

Very nice but... I can see what people mean. Some of it looks artificial and plasticky due to the high graphics. But not much. It's really amazing how clear and crisp it all is... though I think I'll need sunglasses to play it. Hopefully it's not quite so glary in game!

The grass looks a lot like the grass in the forth-coming Brothers In Arms, which i suppose uses the same HDR technology. I think it looks ridiculous in that and i think it looks ridiculous here. There is too much reflection on everything in the screenies for my liking.

However, these graphics are a leap from what is currently around - the only things that ive seen match it are the Unreal 3 video and maybe Doom 3 when pushed to the limit, and it didnt come close to matching the detail in the outside parts. Roll on Oblivion.

I didn't know that this is Star Wars?!?! :huh2:

I believe that that knight is wielding a lightsaber of sorts........

Huh.

Someone really needs to send them an e-mail and tell them to turn that light down.

Hardy har har...

Anyway, I'm sure there'll be an option [read: slider] to adjust the levels of bloom effect. If not, you could always go as far as to turn bloom effects altogether.... I personally don't mind the brightness.

But to each his own, eh? :wink2:

  • 2 weeks later...

bloody well good screenshots, as for the simplified dialog i am glad i really didnt like having a super huge clumsy window pop up ever bloody time i talked to someone. the picture of the city sprang some questions into my mind;

is there going to be the whole exterior/interior cell thing with buildings or is it going to be one huge exterior cell so that we can look through windows to see what is outside?

and, is there going to be interaction between npc's, in the pic it looks like a commoner and a guard are talking?

This on dialogues, from Gavin Carter:

GC: Reworking our NPCs is a major focus for us with Oblivion. Everything about NPCs has been redone from the ground up. For starters, all of their dialog is fully voiced. Being able to actually hear the characters speak out loud really adds to the atmosphere. We’re making revisions to how dialog functions in the game as well. Gone are the encyclopedic database characters of Morrowind who had lists of generic topics that scrolled off the screen. We’re trying hard to give all NPCs a sense of personality and keeping their topics down to things that are interesting and unique. The dialog system itself has been revamped to remove the hyperlink-style keywords sprinkled in among the dialog. You’re now presented with topics and dialog choices in between NPC dialogs. We find this helps you focus on the information (as well as our incredible facial animation system) much more, instead of just hunting through the dialogs for the colored words like in Morrowind.
