Breems
I've been trying to pinpoint my recent issues with "jitters" and stutters in my game in first-person. I've recorded this video to see if the community can help me identify the issue. I fear receiving the news that it is micro-stuttering since there is no known cure, but I'm not completely sure that I fit the symptoms. What say ye? BoromiRofGeo
hey there! im really not expert, but that does look like stuttering issue. I dont have it exactly like in your case, when standing still and just moving camera, but i have similar stuttering when fast moving mouse around in wilderness, even though my standart fps is 60, it sometimes for milliseconds drops to 0 then goes up to what it originally was.but im pretty sure that is because of my vram is full. ( i have many graphic mods )
LargeStyle
Micro-stuttering is when frames are rendered fluidly but are displayed with extremely small (hence micro) stutters. For example a game could be totally locked to say a solid 30 frames per second, but even if it never went below 30 fps it can still stutter for a number of reasons, including: GPU used, GPU driver, monitor refresh rate, fps limiters etc. However in this case I believe the stuttering is due to controller input issue (do you play with a controller?). If you use a mouse (which I don't) then I've heard you need to disable any kind of mouse acceleration - be it within Skyrims setup / .ini files and / or within your mouse hardware configuration tools. If you play with controller then there are controller issues with many Bethesda games - in fact they haven't made one game on pc that works as well as it should, and even some console games have poor controller setup (Oblivion on PS3 springs to mind). The main problem I've found shows up the most when doing diagonal moves - it doesn't have as many increments to the directional changes as the controller allows which results in what I call stepping instead, where it moves in noticeable blocks as opposed to smooth lines / curves. To rule out non-controller stutter issues, I'd recommend trying the following mod just to see if it improves anything... http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/34/? For me it's the best way to limit DirectX 9 fps and I actually use this for all my DX9 games.
