Incudust
How do i make OCO compatible with my custom race edits esp? everytime i load both of them together my racial stat edits are completely overwritten. either that, or the faces on the races that i changed look all screwed up. all depends on if i load my esp b4 or after but either result is no good. Striker879
The two tools are load order (as you know) and bash tags (used by the bashed patch to allow some edits in a mod higher in the load order to carry through). You can find a description of the available bash tags by looking through Wrye Bash General Readme.html (found in the Mopy\Docs folder) ... Bash Configuration - Importing from Plugins section. There is also info in Wrye Bash Advanced Readme.html ... look in the Advanced Bash Patch - Bash Tags section.
Pellape
I can add that when I make NPC's or chars, I do not have OCO2 nor Blockhead loaded. I make a nice face as i get some vague ideas about the end result and when i get in game, I usually get a surprise. One way to solve it might be to actually load OCO2 when you edit your own race. I have tried it and it looks exactly the same. Some races and heads made by other players do not use Blockhead, like Cute Elves, Ren's heads. This is viable in the Race menu if I seen right... at some places in CS or CSE, I see heads grey - Blockhead not loaded and also in Blender and Nifskope if I recall right. Still I can make new NPC without problems in CSE and as I wrote, get surprises in game. If you want to make a race without blockhead, you need to use a head or make a head without Blockhead. Use another face Texture. I use a face texture made by a player called OnaTop around 2007 and she made 4 for 4 races and it is in this file so far and I will soon add that face texture as a bonus in other packages I soon release. Look at my old screenshots here and test that face texture. https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/13823 I think you can use or at least peek at the 2 heads I did mention, to see if you can change them to fit you better. By the way, what type of head do we debate? Elves, humans, monsters, grotesque heads? Can you add a screenshot? I bet you did follow the instructions to install these files in the right order but this do not sound like it has anything to do with that. I use another very very big RP mod, that adds custom races and they do look very very odd with OCO2 and someone made a fix for it. I forgot the name of this RP mod as i have it only at my comp in my own apartment. They look a bit distorted but their looks do fit with how they behave in game. Very odd and hard mod to play, as nothing is obvious and you do not have targets in game in the quests as you have to figure it out your self and there is a walk through made with tips, so you will be able to get anywhere at all. Nothing is where you guess it might be. So damn frustrating mod. The quests are really sick... That mod also rename all spells. So it is about magic, Golden Saints and all Daedra... Damn what is it called... :/ The renaming of the spells made me decide. I will not use it elsewhere as those names are confusing. I must add I love to create attractive NPC's, hitting the generate button and stop when I get attracted by what I see. If the face is ugly, it is not my cup of tea. I have to like it. Its my face and I decide if it looks good or not. No one else. Is good looks important? before i did find better heads for Morrowind, I did not react negative at the original NPC's in that game. When i saw better heads 2004, I wondered: What sh'tgame did I play before I exchanged all heads? My head in Morrowind: I never seen something like that head again... Some of these heads or even all of them are still available at Morrowind Archive. And some are very nice heads and do look good as well, but not as good as this one and It is not even available any longer. And I promise you, I have searched everywhere, not that it matters as we debate Oblivion. Well I hope my babbling here will aid you in some way, hopefully. There is some basic rules for attractive heads and proportions or body proportions. This differ of course from person to person as this is personal taste we do debate. But some rules for making a common attraction, do exist no matter what we might think or want, it is how evolution works. We cannot change our Real Life looks but we can make it better in a game. Does it even matter when we turned of the light in the bedroom? No it does not. Edited April 27, 2022 by Pellape
