rmm200
OK - I feel like this is something I should know. Why is Vortex moving all my Skyrim VR mods to Skyrim Special Edition - and how do I stop it? For example:"Download moved to game Skyrim Special Edition""EngineFixesVR_part2.zip" Note: my Skyrim SE game is on a different drive, so hardlinks between would not even work. These mods are all downloaded manually and dragged to the Vortex window. Pickysaurus
If the file came from the SSE game site it will be moved to that folder. It's not doing any harm, it's just correctly filing it against the game ID used on the website.
rmm200
Thanks Picky. So you are saying - I think - it affects the archive location, but has nothing to do with the mod staging directory. That works. Actually - if I am right - I like it. My example was a VR only mod, but a good 80% of the mods I will download are SE. Most SE mods just work in VR.This saves me from having duplicate zip files. And a related question:Nexusmods says I already downloaded ApachiiSkyHair - and won't let me download it again. So it sits in my Skyrim SE Downloads directory. How do I tell Vortex to install a file on VR that lives in SE? Solution Pickysaurus Posted May 11, 2022 Solution Share Posted May 11, 2022 Find it in your SSE downloads (in Vortex) and double click it. You can then change the "Game" assignment to both SSE and Skyrim VR. This happens automatically in 1.5 but I would guess that mod was downloaded prior to this update. rmm200
Ah! I totally missed that feature. Thanks! OK - this was significantly harder than I expected. To find; actually doing it was easy. 1) Switch to Skyrim SE profile2) Click on Downloads3) Very important - click Show all downloads4) Sort by name5 Double click mod that is common between Skyrim SE and Skyrim VR6) Click the + to indicate add a game7) Select Skyrim VR. Voila - done. Just as Picky said - but I never used the Downloads page to view all downloads before - and do something with them.Really nice feature.
