Marxist ßastard
It's an IGP -- not even a card at all, but a chip on your mainboard that poorly emulates hardware acceleration and redirects everything to your CPU. Even if it does support DirectX 7, chances are that your performance in that game will be measured in seconds per frame. ...Oh, and the reason why you don't have any money is because you've bought a prebuilt -- worse than that, it has an Intel processor and motherboard... Hell, it probably has a few hundred megs of RDRAM, too... Oh, and in related news, a new release of Cedega will offer support for Half-Life 2 and Steam. Dunedain
By the way have you guys heard of people getting motion sickness from half-life 2 heres the article: http://3dgpu.com/archives/2004/11/19/half-...sick-literally/ I have also read that nearly all the people who had hacked versions of half-life 2 have been banned so i guess valve has won the piracy battle? valdir
Obligatory: "ThEy W0N tEh BaTtL3 , Bu7 N07 T3h W4R!!!11" On a related note- I beat Half-life 2 a few nights ago and my reaction was "holy poo" I started a new game last night, and I'm just BLAZING through everything. It feels so good.
ShinJiOh
I don't get it, if you all love HL then why did you not already have a steam account. And would you 56k whiners shut-up already. I run 28k on DOD and it runs FINE, and there was no waiting for the servers in Australia. But i must say, running the game on an X800..sw33t But by the same token, since the 16th of November (the release of (λ²) would productivity has been significantly reduced... Then again, a multitude of games were released on the 16th. :stupid: That's a true fact, i read it in a newspaper somewhere. ::EDIT:: and when are those valve clowns going to give us our DOD-source, i bought the collectors editon of (λ²) for nothing, but a shirt that was too large. Zmid
I have also read that nearly all the people who had hacked versions of half-life 2 have been banned so i guess valve has won the piracy battle?<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nearly all? 20,000. That is a tiny percentage, and, if they have any sense, getting banned from Steam is, at most, a minor inconvenience.
valdir
Well not only does that keep them from playing Halflife2, it also keeps them from playing all future Steam games. Which means all the mods, too. That's a lot.
Dark0ne
Well not only does that keep them from playing Halflife2, it also keeps them from playing all future Steam games. Which means all the mods, too. That's a lot. Not any more. Mega Games released their "crack" for the game yesterday which will work with all torrent downloads of the game (not the actual DVD version of the game itself, which goes against their ethos...but meh) and completely circumvents the use of Steam. No need for validation from steam for these pesky download boys - just a nice large 3GB file download.

Which means all the mods, too. That's a lot.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wrong. All they have to do is set up another Steam account. They might have to use a different e-mail address, but how many places give you an e-mail address for free?
Marxist ßastard
...Another Steam account and another credit card, actually. Besides that, it's not the fact that they banned 20 000 people that matters, but the fact that they've eliminated a method of piracy that's 20 000 users strong. Cete
It's pretty smart with the internet registration, but it's annoying for students like me who have their computers at school. I have to wait 3 weeks untill I can get my computer back home. ;)
