nafeasonto
How do i look up something using it's ID in game, not the name? Whether it's an ITEM, NPC, whatever
Georgiegril
Do you want the item ID or reference ID?To get the reference id, just open the console and click on the item.To get the base id, you can find lists of these in the Elder Scroll Wikis. Or you could search through the CK.

I've wanted to do that a few times myself.
Georgiegril
Ah. I don't think you can do that in game, exactly, but if you get the reference ID, I think you can use TES5Edit to get the rest.Maybe someone else has a better way.

qaz1qaz1qa
Ok he asked for REVERSE look up. I am needing the same thing after all these years and Skyrim is going strong. I got a player home mod and some kind of invisible thing is in the way. I latched onto it using the console after a lot of trial. I pushed it down quite a ways till It was finaly not sticking up. I tested by moving it with Jaxonz positioner till it stopped pushing me around.I have the xxx20c8c code for the object. I used search in the creation kit and was able to find only one thing attached to that ending partial code and it was a "Land Form" I still am not sure. But maybe there is a part of the mesh not covered with a texture CLEARLY (pun). Would love more advice.

In the FormID filter box enter the ID as discovered in-game. After a few moments, the object should be highlighted. Unfortunately there is no in-game way of reverse looking up an object. qaz1qaz1qa
Wow thanks for the speedy response! Did not even expect one. AND that worked perfect. I spent a bit of the day basting the object with flames to see if the scaring would reveal what it was. Using your advice I know exactly waht it was and it was part of the mods gate collision. However it was preventing me from getting through the open gate. Thank you
