Alt-tab: Unable to return to the game.

What it says on the tin, once the game is minimized, I cannot bring it back up no matter what I do :S

Wouldn't be that much of a problem, as I could just give up alt-tabbing ingame, but lately windows has been nagging me about loads of memory being used and having to close applications. This can just ignored, but it throws me to desktop and makes me unable to continue playing :(

Anyone else having the same problems as I do, and/or a fix to this?

never have a game in the same setting as windows....... o_O just turn it down to 1280 x 800 the game will look just as good, if this dose not work try playing the game in windows mode with the same setting.

good luck :)

I have this problem as well, although I do not expect many games to respond well to alt-tabbing these days. Oddly enough, it worked perfectly before the first patch.

Same and I use different settings for my monitor and my game.

if its a memory issue then ctrl+alt+del and close unnecessary programs before loading your game but if its a virtual memory problem then your only hope is upgrading your video card. but what you can also do is STOP USING VISTA if you are vista screws with a whole bunch of games and i know most people are just stuck with vista because linix just doesnt play windows games that well and since they discontinued windows xp witch makes things that much more difficult. so if you are running vista and also are wanting to run games then here is my suggestions

if you are a gamer. never run vista with anything less than 3 gigs of ram

if you just run vista because its pretty and dont want it to do anything then 512 megs of ram are good enough. but i said this to my brother and all my friends who are getting new computers never run vista with anything less than 2 gigs or you are in a world of trouble. sorry about my little rant, but the main thing is close out other programs then run your game and maybe that could help and also if its a video issue then you might want to think about investing 100 or so dollars into a 512mb video card or just go all out and invest 300 dollars on a 1gb video card or better yet $600 and get 2 1gb video cards and piggyback them.

I was running on vista, (just installed win 7) with 4gigs of ram, Intel core2 quad q9300 at 2,6Ghz and Nvidia GeForce 9800GT (1gig of video memory iirc) :)

After installing win7 the alt-tab issue hasn't risen its head, but I have started to get random CTDs tho :S
