christianerding2
Hello Sabrio, I am not a expert for spellmedding but, ...I think you mean that in the Effect Item Popup "Area" is greyed out. This has a good reason, a firebolt should only hurt enemies that are hit DIRECTLY.Area does not describe how far the firebolt will fly, but how large the radius on impact is that will take damge. If you want to change that, you have to change the "Magic effect" that the firebolt uses, in your case search for "FireDamageConcAimed"and untag the item "No Area", but beware this has an effect on ALL spells that use "FireDamageConcAimed" as a template. If you want to learn more about magic spells modding, download midas magic and pick it apart in the creation kit. Greeting, Christian
Shadeybladey
For missile spells you need to find the PROJ file (Projectile). You can change range, speed etc there.

mythspell
Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but it's the only one I've found discussing spell range and this problem is really doing my head in. Does anyone know how to increase the range of a concentration/aimed destruction spell? Thanks!!!

Does anyone know how to increase the range of a concentration/aimed destruction spell? Thanks!!!First, I'd suggest making your own new thread for new questions. Second, do you mean ray-type spells, like Flames? This type of spell is called a Spray type in the CK. You can read about projectile types here. Just look for the projectile for the spell you want to modify in the CK under the Projectiles category. Then just modify range.

I suspected projectile might have something to do with it but what's been throwing me off is I thought anything related to magic would, logically, be under the magic section. But there's no projectile sub-category under magic. So, after some more digging, I unexpectedly found it under the completely separate SpecialEffect category. I wanted to reply back with this info in case it helps anyone else. Thanks again!
