Gamebryo plugin management & bsa extensions failed to load even after reinstall with windows defender disabled

Vortex 1.5.13 // Skyrim // ~90 mods installed // Windows 10, 64 bit


I've tried several different things ranging from switching from C to D drives and disabling windows defender. Not really sure what else to do because, essentially, the issue is being caused by Vortex not recognizing files which when followed to their supposed location are present and properly named (bsatk.node and node-loot.node)

I would download a rolled back version of Vortex but it seems that only a handful of people are having this issue and their solutions did not work for me. I'm not sure where to find older versions of vortex to use instead. Any help greatly appreciated.

I have not updated to windows 11 out of fear it will create new problems altogether. Let me know if this is a good/bad idea.

If the files actually exist, then it means your local security software is blocking Vortex from accessing them properly. Or one of the dependencies required by Vortex is corrupted on your machine.

 

I'd suggest disabling any third party anti-virus apps and update/reinstall the .NET frameworks on your PC.

 

Have you filed this report through the in-app reporting feature? That's the best way to get our devs to look at it.
