Juzouya
title should say the main bulk of it- earlier while trying to download some mods, vortex told me that my disk drive thing was out of space, so I went through and moved vortex and steam/skyrim to a new disk that had plenty of space. this proved to be quite troublesome as I've faced many errors since doing so, the main one being 'Failed to set game mode'. "Missing: E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\data". while I understand that that folder is indeed missing, it is because I moved vortex and steam/skyrim to a new disk out of the E: one, which is the part that is confusing me. why is it looking in that disk for the data when neither of the folders are located in that diskhelp would be greatly appreciated as I'm still pretty new to the modding scene as a whole
Pickysaurus
You need to update the game location under the Games tab. Find Skyrim and click the little menu button, then pick manually set location.
rmm200
If you manually moved Skyrim with mods installed - you will have additional problems. Hard links don't like to move.Always use Purge to clear hard links before moving a game directory. And use Vortex to move your mod staging directory. It has to wind up on the same drive as your game.
