I visited the Museum of the Rockies and discovered yet another people who have stories with a creator who created humans and gave them a plan for living life.

  1. the study of the nature of God and religious belief.
    "a theology degree"
    • religious beliefs and theory when systematically developed.
      plural noun: theologies
"a willingness to tolerate new theologies"

Pick one, any one. And after you wade through that book, read the Book or Mormon, the Koran, the Analects of Confucius (as translated by Burton Watson) and the Bhagavad Gita. That should give you a fairly well rounded view of the worlds most popular superstitions.

Then read "Lectures on the Essence of Religion", written by Ludwig Andreas von Feuerbach in 1851. This work is the source of the phrase "Man created God in his own image" and although Feuerbach addresses Christianity, his philosophical questions apply to all theistic traditions.

You might also want to try "Stranger in a Strange Land" by Robert Heinlein and "The Lord of Light" by Roger Zelazny. These two works of Science Fiction take a different look at theologies.

And for the record, I too am an a-theist. I do not believe in the existence of a god or any gods.

I just realized I have never been directed to any book concerning Atheism. I wondered if I haven't been getting overly protected because a place I lived was practically all Christians. None of who gave me ideas to find out if I fit in with the point of view of an atheist. I just googled and saw so much on the surfed to page it tired my brain just looking at the page. The Book of Atheist? Have you read any of the stories from those books?

Now that I am done writing here I am going out to work on a problem. I do what is referred to with that in mind as "Fix Or Repair Daily". It's sort of a religion. If I want to keep the item doing what it is does for me there is no question because it has to be done.

I have to figure out what to do before I start. I need to get a mental blueprint in mind before I descend on the mundane item. That's sort of a religion to me.

If there is a god who would like to make the repairs happen by sending me one of their Earthly mechanics I won't stop them if they know what they are doing. If someone waves their hands in the air mumbling as they do and the problem is restored to life I might pray thank them for doing it, give them some food, and share the items purpose with them before I am found again standing near looking puzzled. Or it is Found On Road Dead by some passerby. Found On Road Dead is what some peoples thinking is and they don't stop. They just drive by LOL.
