Gwyn21
It's not a case of there being more than one mod that changes game_main.arc and title-arc either. Vortex attempts a merge even when there is only one mod that replaces them.

Gwyn21
Not as a case of it being an old mod either. The one I installed is pretty new. https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonsdogma/mods/
Gwyn21
A quick and simple solution I would recommend is adding a prompt for merging. Make it so it asks you whether you want to merge or not. If not, it installs without attempting any merges. If so, it installs and attempts a merge. I haven't found a way to turn off merging manually, and the merging itself is what it is causing the issue. Not the mod. Cause installing manually has no such issues.

LDKSuperDante
Awesome! Hopefully that solves the issue, I forgot to check on this thread for a little while again, but I'm glad something was figured out. I'll let the users who had the problem know. dvyexg0815
Same issue: Vortex merged game_main.arc failed.Problem:1. Switching difficulty from normal to hard gets "Failed open file ...\DDDA\nativePC\effect\mod\m_cm000_07\m_cm000_07_01.mod 3"(Deploying after switched to hard mode works fine so far.)Test:1. Fail: SoftLink /HardLink /Move deployments by vortex.2. Work: Replacing game_main.arc after deployed by vortex.3. Fail: Unpack game_main.arc merged by vortex and repack them again manually. (Though i don't see any difference to downloaded one)
