Drumber Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Is there any way to have more than one person to edit a mod page, like the description/uploading files etc?
Thandal Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Yes, just edit the Attributes of the mod.(But you need to know the "User ID" of the person you'd like to add.) http://static2.nexusmods.com/140/images/140/1678793-1381847059.png People can find their own User ID by going to the "User Area" of any of the mod sites: http://static1.nexusmods.com/140/images/140/1678793-1381848130.png
NemesisTheWarlock Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Yes, you add the Nexus user ID (the number on their profile page) to the "User Permissions" section in the Mod attributes.
Drumber Posted October 15, 2013 Author Posted October 15, 2013 Thank you both, I thought this was the way to do it but I recently got added to a mod page as I am doing some work on it and the only thing that changed was my name was highlighted in the comment area which is why I was a bit confused.
TheVampireDante Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Drumber: Profile on the the file site - user area - files - Manage files you have access to Any mod you've been added to will be listed from that option.
Drumber Posted October 15, 2013 Author Posted October 15, 2013 (edited) Okay so I have a problem, I have been added to manage this file http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/53082//? but it's not working, I checked with nekronom12 that he added me correctly and everything but still not in my managed files or anything, anyone know how to fix it? Community Manager Dark0ne Posted October 15, 2013 Community Manager Posted October 15, 2013 He has added your ID correctly. Make sure you're on the "manage files you have access to" page and not on the "manage files" page i.e. this page.
NemesisTheWarlock Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Just as an aside on this guys, I was added to another author's Mod recently as he wasn't supporting it any more but was willing to allow me to update it for him. It's really quite difficult to do from that position instead of the fairly straightforward editing of your own Mods. I normally hide my Mods whilst I'm updating files, but when I did this on his Mod, I couldn't access the Mod anymore as it was hidden, so I had to unhide the Mod and mess with the files "live".Any chance this process could be made a little easier?
Community Manager Dark0ne Posted October 16, 2013 Community Manager Posted October 16, 2013 That's really an entirely different question that needs it's own thread, rather than derailing this one. We know it could be easier but this year is all about making the sites actually work, and not about functionality.
NemesisTheWarlock Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 No worries, just thought I'd ask. Thanks for all your efforts, site stability is far more important. Best of luck with getting it sorted :)
