nbtc971
Seems like I've seen a mod like that before, but I can't find anything. What I want is a mod that will either add color or have some other way to make a map maker that has just been added (or recently added) to the map. I don't know how many times I'm walking by someone and they mention some place I should check out and I don't really hear, or understand the name of the cave, fort, etc, and I can't find it on the map because it doesn't stand out at all. Thanks for the help.
Shadeybladey
The only ones I know are Legwon's Coloured Map Markers and Atlas Map Markers. It doesn't make newly added ones stand out, though.

Yeah, I found the colored map markers, not really what I was looking for. I just wanted the newly added markers to be highlighted. Not even sure if it's possible but I could of sworn I saw one of those a long time ago.
OdahKing
I don't know but that would be a pretty good mod, I'd like to have that in my load order.
Shadeybladey
I am not convinced it's possible. The map markers are what they are and they will be coloured with something like Legwon's Markers, or not coloured if you use Vanilla map.swf. I made one of the coloured sets for that mod and I don't think it's possible to even make new marker types. Any discovered locations will either be coloured or not. Locations marked but Undiscovered will be in the default, Undiscovered Vanilla colour. And anything updated on the map from a casual conversation will be in the default, Undiscovered Vanilla colour. Early in the game, you should be able to notice new markers added to the map as there are not many there to start with. Later in the game, any markers updated from conversation or reading a book are marked but Undiscovered, so you should be able to distinguish them from the Discovered locations. Other markers that you discover by travelling will be discovered and marked in the Discovered colour, whether you use a coloured map marker or not. I think you might be misremembering. What MIGHT be possible is, instead of "Map Updated" popping up in the corner, to get it to say "Location X Updated on your Map" and stay there for 10 seconds to make sure you can read it. ~.~
OdahKing
What if when a guard or someone said "hey don't go near ghost cave" and it updates your map....it would give you a misc quest to check out new location? That would be very close to what you want...I wonder if a mod author could make that possible.
myztikrice
What does it matter? Just check out each black not discovered yet marker
OdahKing
What does it matter? Just check out each black not discovered yet markerIt matter quite a bit, because some of us are just walking past a guard don't don't hear him say something because... we have something we are doing and rushing and then it randomly says map marker added but doesn't tell us what marker it added... Plus if in real life you were in Skyrim and a guard told you about a place you'd know A. Where it actually is on the map and B. Would want to go explore there. So I believe a quest marker, would make it great and let people know exactly whats new...because I don't want to spend a long time trying to find out what is new. Shadeybladey
This might be one of those "The Way Vanilla Should Have Been" mod ideas. Screen message tells you "This or that Location marked on your map" Then looking at General Stats tells you "Locations learned from rumours" and has a list of the names, in alphabetical order, but with the time and date the map was updated; rather than just the number of locations, like you see with number of items stolen, number of people killed etc. Or even a "Map Rumour Journal" that adds the locations you have heard about. That sort of thing can be done. Play as a Bard has a Bard's Journal telling you which inns you have played at and how many times; Achieve That! has a section in the General Stats Menu that tells you which of the new achievements in the mod you have completed etc Now you just need someone clever enough to do it who also has the motivation and desire. ~.~

Great mod.
