pepperman35
Gimp, paint.net and Photoshop will all work, providing you have the necessary plug-in. Basically, you bring in the image of interest and you either resize it and/or crop it to the desired size. If resizing or crop isn't applicable then you might first need to make your canvas size (e.g., 1024 x 1024) and then bring in you image. Layers can be your friend here. Then export it out to the dds format. Remember, most texture sets have three images: _d.dds, _n.dds, and _s.dds. Chances are you'll need to make all three, BTW, unsplash.com is a good source of images. Edited July 9, 2022 by pepperman35
Zorkaz
Simply means it doesn't have proper resolution. It should be 512x512, 1024x1024, 2048x2048, etc.. Basically a texture starts at 1x1, then 2x2, 4x4....Some however can also have a 1:2 ratio but it's seldom in this game. Internet textures often have random resolutions so you need to crop or resize them
