"Skyrim has stopped working" on exiting game

SORRY IT SEEMS TO HAVE SOLVED ITSELF, NOT SURE HOW TO REMOVE POST

hey

so i decided to do a clean re install of skyrim and all mods due to the previous save getting to prone to crashing due to much fiddling with mods ( and probably poor uninstalling installing etc)

anyways so the game seems stable and fine when im playing no problems at all with pretty much all the mods i was running before (only ctd was 10 min into a 1500 speed stability test which im fine with)

so when i got to exit to desktop (if i exit to menu it works then same problem when i try to quit from menu) it exits then skyrim freezes and comes up with "skyrim has stopped working" the usual windows thing, its not like a ctd that usually happens with skyrim due to mods, so im curious if anyone else has had this happen

its not exactly game breaking and so far it doesnt seem to have and affect apart from the slight nuisance of habing to ctrl alt delete to close skyrim

any ideas? its the first time this has happened to me, im wondering if its got something to do with mods although im sure it isn't as it was happening when i only had the unofficial patches and does exact same thing with rest of mods installed

thanks

A bit of a bump to this topic, but I just began having the same problem. Again, as the original poster says, this isn't game breaking, but it is a bit of a nuisance to have Skyrim crash each time upon hitting "exit"... I get the "Skyrim has stopped working" error message.

Any ideas?

I think it might be something, preventing from exit.

What I found it that if you wait in menu on exit for X-amount-of-time and exit, then, it will exit normally(save-file on that game is not damage, but the times will accumulate with each save--don't know the consequences).
