chelsea23231
Why is there so many removed mods in foreign languages called translation that function the same.. It seems like only the modders who left... an their all outside the jurisdiction of the nation the modder lives in.. This seems like intention side stepping of IP laws? Can I just download anyones mod and uploaded under mine name as well in a different language? Or at least why am I seeing them in my country.. and only specific mods.. seems illegal for sure. rmm200
Each mod includes license terms. Some mod authors say Translations are OK, but credit the author.Refer to specific mods for license terms.
zcul
From the site owner’s File Submission Guidelines (excerpt) https://help.nexusmods.com/article/28-file-submission-guidelinesUsage and AccreditationSubmissions must conform to the following guidelines:· Submission of existing user-submitted content without obtaining permission from the original author(s) of said content is strictly prohibited.· Proper credit to the original author(s) must be given unless the author(s) has/have specified that credit is not necessary. Please, be aware that the mere accreditation of an author is no substitute for receiving explicit permission to upload or modify someone else’s content.· The uploader is responsible for understanding the legalities involved when using copyrighted work and submissions that contain such content may be removed.· Language translations should be submitted only as an addition that works in conjunction with the original file and you should link to the original file as a mirror or in your file description. Translations that include content from the original mod without permission may be subject to moderation and will be removed if requested by the original file author(s). showler
Most translations require the original mod to function. If people are uploading complete, functional copies of mods that have been removed from the Nexus and calling them translations to try to get around permission rules then they should be reported. A real translation will almost never be functional without the original mod.
