Dradum_Fairoak
Ah I remember the old Morrowind Wish List thread. Some things I wanted then and still do: Rideable mounts (obvious) Huge battles that will happen and change the world whether you are there or not. How cool would it be knowing a battle is about to take place, so you wait half a day after you know its started then come up behind the enemy forces and battle through to meet your allies? Very, I think. More ways to knock people unconscious. If you had a low hand to hand rating in MW it was very hard without a spell to bring the fatigue rating down. I remember laying out a scenario in the MW Wish List thread where your character would be in a tavern talking to locals about whatever, or having a pint, when some drunkard would come up to you and pick a fight. You could pick up a nearby broom/bottle/glass, crack him on the head with it and knock him out. And unconscious would mean unconscious for some time. Which brings up another thing. I don't think even the poorest commoner gives a nuts if you steal their pillow. They should not plot my immediate murder because I took their fork. Also, if you steal something valuable from someone, I'd like the idea of them tracking you down to steal it back/kill you in cold blood. Imagine walking through a forest in the middle of nowhere when you see a bloke haring towards you, sword aloft, the same bloke that three weeks previously you had stolen a cloak from. Anyway apart from those things it's stuff that clearly will be in the game like better reaction to the elements (clothes getting wet and staying wet, blowing in the wind etc). Can't wait for this. Chaosmaker
I still don't think the oblivion engine will be able to handle a large battle any better then morrowind can so i don't think so. As for everything else i kinda agree.
Abramul
Well, Radiant sounds somewhat like what they used for the massive-combat scenes in the LotR: RotK movie. It ought to be far more suitable than MW's AI!
Peregrine
The problem is the hardware demands, not the AI. Those massive combat scenes worked because they had networks of computers running them, with no time limits. You just can't do the same in a real-time game without getting insane hardware requirements. If anything, Oblivion's AI makes things even more difficult, because the demands for each NPC are much higher than a simple "attack closest" AI. Chaosmaker
One stupid thing that just popped into my head is that when you get drunk on flin or sujamma and stuff like that have your character stumble around a bit and have the picture get all fuzzy (like fable) Just a stupid thing.... Guest
It would be nice if the took more notice of what you wear like a commoner wearing bowing to you or complementing you if you look like a noble. Also it would be nice for them to actually realize what clothes your wearing because Poeople yelled at me for being naked because I wore only armor and also according to the AI putting on a ring and only a single seemed to be enough clothes for them. Akrid
I agree with most request. But ofcourse large battles problay wont happen. But morrowind was never about that, its about your adventure. Also the clothes idea I like, they should improve on that. But in morrowind I could go steal some nice clothes in the first five minutes of the game. Nice things should be harder to aquire also so its actualy a challenge to be a thief. I noticed in Morrowind most people had crap for possesions, so you couldnt get rich from knocking over one house. Well I think Doors should harder to pick and guards should be more focused. And getting into somones home esp a nice house should be hard, and even then you still need to creep around and search for valuables then evade. And you would have to sell stolen stuff on the black market that would be dangerous, so you might want to take a merc with you. You should be able to keep a secret idenity, by wearing a mask or a helmet that conceals your face, guards will suspect people that wear simular armor, they should follow leads. And you should be able to backpack your costume up and be fine, unless they search your stuff and find your costume. At least for thieves and assassins this should be implemented. Vampires should be worked on a lot, I suggest a more classic version of them. They should bite. In morrowind there was three diffrent vampires races, I think they should do the same but have one be the dracula like vampires that live in a nice dark hidden castle, and the other should be the monsterus type with bald heads big ears and claws, and red eyes, and they would live wild. Then maybe one that uses magic and tend to live alone in secret places. I remember searching for vampires on a quest to become one as one of the highlights to playing morrowind, I hope they build on that. I would find a monster and wonder if that was the vampire, and I didnt know what to expect. The more civilized vampires should be the hardest to find as they would posses massive knowlage and no doubt affect the lore of everything having such a long history, and the more monster like vampires you would be more likely to run acrossed, they would act more like zombies, and becoming one of them would be a struggle to maintain control of your blood lust. There should be a underworld, full of wraiths, ghost, undead of all kinds, daedria etc.And this would allow for a more realistic death system. Instead of always rebooting a save game, they should make it where most defeats in combat leave you incapsiteted or you can slowly crawl away, Dying should be more of a rare ocurance, being wounded should be more frequent, and resting to heal should lower stats (as to make it so you are never perminatly maxed and there is always more skills to gain or regain) But if your finished off, like impaled or beheaded, you go to the underworld, you can choose to go back before you died if you have enuff energy to spend (so like loading a saved game) or you can fall into the underworld, you can fight your way back to the surface close enuff to manifest yourself back to life, and if you have a necromancer friend they should be able to help you in this. Witch leads me to magic types, in morrowind ther was magic types but you could learn them all, I think they should make it so you need to study one type of magic to be able to use it, and if you study another it decreases the oposite magic skills you have. that way you have to choose one type, ther ecould be life magic, death, fire, ice etc. Owning a home should be a accomplishment, not just a place you walk into and lay claim, if you try that guards should come arrest you. And guards should be more formitable, if one guard cant take you on, they should fall back and get help. When you modify the game with the CS there should be checks and balances, like if you makle a sword that attacks 50 it should be so slow and so expensive, and you cant just drop it in the world it must be for sale, and guarded, if you break the balance rules, then your game will have a "unbalanced" notice to the menu, so players are reminded that they didnt earn what they have, and that way when you show off your character to friends you really can brag about your uber character when your save file is "legit", they use this system in neverwinter nights, works good. I could go on forever.................
Abramul
Along the magic schools line, healers SHOULD NOT be able to use Destruction magic. Not sure about other classes that'd be restricted, but the healer's oath would not allow them to use Destruction. (They might be able to use scrolls, though)
