Disabling/replacing Piles in the game

I was looking at the recently relased/updated mod Combined Game Tweaks and realized I had most all of its features already, so I asked if there were a separate Pile Prevention mod as I thought the only one I'd seen was from years back and unworkable now. Then I checked and it turned out I was right. There's a few reasons for this:

The mod No Ash/Goo Piles from Energy Weapons is indeed from 2016 nor has it been upgraded in a while. Further, is doesn't disable the effect of turning many dead into piles of ash (fire weapons), goo (plasma weapons), or dust (Alien Blaster) so much as change the weapons to stop them triggering the effect. Not only will that almost certainly conflict with mods that change said weapons, it does nothing to stop the effect in other weapons, such as the sword Rapture introduced by Children of Ug-Qualtoth and its upcoming sequel Whispers of Ug-Qualtoth to name just two examples.

Clearly, a mod to just stop the effect altogether is in order.

(Besides, the fact the piles were always the same size no matter how small or huge the critter killed happened to be... annoying AF!)

It's close, but it's not quite there. The Gore-verhaul is lacking in two small but important details. First off, it does not prevent Alien Blaster dust piles, and other mods do use the dust pile effect. Second, possibly because of the use of Critical Hits Outside Of VATS, it always causes a dust pile effect if your weaponry can cause one at all. Literally every hit.

Or you could use a mod that adds a better effect?

Sheeeeesh!)

Ok, I'm glad I read this post. I'm not using energy weapons, because of the goo/ash piles. And thought that the gore change mod would be what I was looking for.

I unfortunately do not know of an all in one, simple drag and drop solution.

I mean, if you know how to read the files, you could easily either create a patch to include the other weapons, or edit the original mod to include them. (I'd go with the former, try to keep the original mod in original condition, in case of errors).

Actually, the neurons are starting to halfway fire. I dunno if it's possible or not. I THINK some of the dismemberment solutions have used a method of altering the dismemberment to the AMMO, rather than to the weapon. I know that the Cover Penetration mod, does so with the Ammo, as well.

I dunno if the critical hit effect could be overwritten to the ammo or not tho.

Interesting challenge, no? If you avoid the Alien Blaster I suspect the Gore-verhaul would actually work as advertised, I was testing to see if the Zetan weapon was overlooked. Ammo would honestly be a step backward. Rapture is, after all, a melee weapon!
