icantcreategoodnames Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Hello every. I've been playing on an installation of Skyrim for about a 4 weeks without a hitch. Use SKSE mostly for Sky UI and haven't had a problem with it up until today. Whenever I open the loader, even as admin, it brings up the error in the picture every time and immediately proceeds to delete the file I just clicked on. I've reinstalled it with the installer and done it manually with the .zip files and no luck. Does the same thing every time. Please help because I literally have no idea what is causing this; it's so frustrating.
manaia36 Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 (edited) ah interesting. I am having the exact same issue as you. I have tired everything I can think of. All those programs I use are set to run as Admin . I am also really at a loss over this error P.S I got mine working. I had forgotten I had installed Avast Anti-virus a couple of days back and the Avast Shield was messing something up with the SKSE. I disabled that and it works perfect now! Doomguy87 Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Thank you very much! Now excuse while I go pistol whip avast, for driving me insane.
pheo3309 Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Yeah, I was about to comment about sometimes AV's going on the fritz.
icantcreategoodnames Posted October 27, 2013 Author Posted October 27, 2013 Wow.. I should've known better. It was indeed Avast screwing things up. I get so caught up in mods causing issues sometimes I didn't stop to think it may not be game related.
myztikrice Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 I wouldn't even begin to understand how you thought a mod could delete a file from your harddrive.

rhowington Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Search the forums! There are a multitude of threads about Avast and SKSE.
icantcreategoodnames Posted October 27, 2013 Author Posted October 27, 2013 Search the forums! There are a multitude of threads about Avast and SKSE. I had actually. I didn't know my problem had anything to do with Avast so I didn't get any solid answers. Thanks to manaia36, I got my answer kindly and trouble-free.
brianj64 Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 (edited) It's Avast deleting the file. Pretty obvious. Edited October 27, 2013 by brianj64
