Any replacement mods for Alvor?

why not just bring up the console, and resurrect him?

He will just continue to die. I'd rather just have a mod. Plus he died a couple of weeks ago and I just realized how uncool it is not to have a blacksmith in Riverwood, especially now that I live in Lakeview Manor.

From my experience, console resurrecting Alvor - or any NPC, for that matter - so long after the fact causes AI packages to mess up. For example, when I lost Alvor a few playthroughs ago, I didn't notice straight away. When I did notice several days later, I resurrected him. He spent his days at the forge like normal but spent the rest of his time simply standing in the middle of the road. This fact, along with him being raised from the dead after weeks of being gone, are incredibly immersion shattering.

Resurrecting characters with whom you've interacted also causes weird things to happen. Other NPCs, like his wife and child, might refer to him as being dead. The Jarl might send you a letter offering condolences and some money from Alvor's will.

I suppose it won't bring Alvor back to life, but you could try this mod to prevent any other characters from dying in dragon attacks. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/23906/?
