So I got both RK folwers and imersible Armors the other day,..and oh yeah,..bandoliers,... and, while the game is recognizing that they should be there,.. there's no graphics! Surely I must have done something wrong. This is especially painfull cause instead of getting four cute new NPC's they're all talkin at me through fleshy mouths withought faces,..ugh creepy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks- I guess I'll give it a try,... I wonder,.. when ya say copy the meshes and textures folders under the data folder , do you mean those folders should be specifically NOT placed in a subfolder within the data folder? because that's how they are now,... again a ton of thanks for the reply.

I can't really speak for the other guy in what he meant yet your meshes and textures folders should indeed be inside the data folder.

You'll often see a mod, when you open it with something like 7zip or WinRar, has the same hierarchy of folders.

I.E. Skyrim/Data/Meshes/(Other folder names) or Skyrim/Data/Textures/(other folder names)

That's because when something like NMM extracts the data it reads the hierarchy so it knows where all the files go.

So essentially that's also how mods can be manually installed, by simply following that same hierarchy and overwriting any files from other mods, assuming you're wanting the files from your mod to overwrite others. :teehee:

You can also manually uninstall the same way. By opening the mod in 7zip, WinRar, or something along those lines (no need to extract, you can follow the hierarchy of the folders and remove all the files that match the names of the files in the mods, try not to remove the folders, though, keeping those makes it easier to reinstall.

As for .bsa, .esm, or .esp files those simply go right into the data folder.

So as an example you'd put "Skyrim.esm" into the Skyrim/Data/ directory.

Of course you'll likely find this is how your mod's hierarchy is set up anyway.

Hope that helps!

I'm having a problem with my game, pratically the game is like it doesn't read the content of the meshes and textures folder, so the armor mods and texture mods are not working (but the esp works). I already checked the folders, they are all right, for example the retexture of the iron armor is in: Data\Textures\armor\iron\m, but in the game there aren't any new textures... any help, please?

Are you using any mod managers or organizers. I know that MO requires things be installed into the overwrite (possibly override?) folder before they work properly. Similarly you may have conflicting mods. If you have any other mods that work with armor I'd suggest uninstalling those and keeping your new armor mod installed. Make sure you uninstall the mods the way the mod page/readme tells you to. Now after you do this check if the armor mod you're wanting installed is working. If it is working then reinstall each mod one at a time, if you find that one of the mods asks to overwrite files from the mod you're having issues with then you have your culprit.

If however you have no mods that are working at all then I need to know if you have something like Mod Organizer, if you do then it could be that your mods aren't extracting or aren't extracted to MO's Overwrite folder.

I install all my mods manually. Btw, I reinstalled the game and installed only one mod, a retex for the iron armor, and it doesn't work. I didn't install anything else, only the basic game (no dlc), and then added the retexture mod, but nothing, in game the new textures didn't show up. It's exactly like the game can't read the textures folder, and I don't understand why. It never did this.

I have the same problem, in a way. Installed this awesome mod, manually and with NMM, and still doesn't work. The changes just don't come up. I'm playing the full legendary edition (with the official HD textures mod), at version 1.9.32, with the 3 dlcs. It doesn't show up in "data files" from the launcher either, but it's not a bsa/esp file, so I don't think it would anyways (am I wrong?), it's just a simple retexture.

I also tried to install this hoodless dragon masks mod, and the problem is a little different. It does have the esp files, they show up in data files, I check the boxes. Then in game the masks are invisible on the character (but are still normally displayed in inventory). It's not that the mod doesn't work at all, the masks just become invisible when equipped.

So, in the first case, just a retexture without any esp, and no changes are shown in game. In the second case, the mod is loaded from the launcher, changes are "applied", but no image shows up (it's like the mod says "masks are not like this, they like that", pointing out to some other pattern, but only the "not like this" part works). This makes me think my game isn't able to read these extra folders that are added with the mods, like "textures" and "meshes". Any idea how I can fix this? I really need to fix that horrible robe

/data/textures

/data/meshes

are standart folders. The archmage robe retexture will simply replace an already existing .dds file and the other one is doing the same for an mesh.

The dragonpriest mod is wrongly packed its putting the /meshes folder not into /data.

Instead of manual installation of mods use mod organizer. Its the only mod manager I know which lets you install/uninstall mods without any trace. Now we need something similar for savegames + scripts and skyrim would be improved by 100%.
