1.5 patch and serious crashing

I've ben trying to trouble shoot my DCInteriors Project mod, for three days now. I've done clean installs started new games, cleared out all mods accept the ones I'm working on, I've tried everything I can think of.

I can run my Georgetown esp. and my WIP on Seward Sq. separately with no issues. If I activate both I start to get CTD's, If I combine them into one esp I get CTD's.

I just don't get it. if I can run them individually and there has never ben a conflict why cant I run them together.

it seems to me that the 1.5 patch doesn't like using mods that alter more that one District.

I have downloaded the 1.5 patch twice. I try to install it, it starts to install, then I get a message saying the patch file is corrupt. I got the file off the Bethesda site. Anyone else having this problem?

Either both times the download got corrupted... or you're using the wrong patch (US/UK) maybe? But, really, I would suggest you to wait. Checking the official forums I'm seeing a growing number of troubleshooting reports even for completely unmodded games. No real reason to download this patch until the problem is solved, since anyway the only interesting thing it was meant to fix were 4 broken VATS perks, a bug you can already solve either with the unofficial patch or another mod. I myself had to give up and revert back to 1.4 for the sake of my mental sanity.

I know this is too late for some of you but do be sure to get into the habit of the following:

1) As soon as you've installed Oblivion, copy your entire data directory to a backup spot. That way you always have your "clean" oblivion before patches and mods which will help you get up to speed faster if you want / need to start fresh.

2) Always make backups of your save games regularly.

Cheers and good luck.

Just to put my 2 cents in ,I get a consistent crash with sleeping in my Megaton house bed. Actually I tried to save outside in Megaton and crashed as well. Seems Megaton is my hotspot for crashing so far. Granted I usually wait to see if it works for others, but went ahead and put this one in right away. I need a stupid pill fix lol. We are dealing with Bethesda after all lol.

Addin another 2 cents. I think anyone who is reading this and has not updated to 1.5 should wait for a bit and see if they fix the update. Something is wrong with these new releases. I heard the first release of The Pitt was also messed up. They fixed it of course but the same principle seems to apply here. No doubt Beth will fix the update. Strange though, its like somebody is testing all of these new releases on the public before fixing them...

Here's something that could be causing crashes to happen.

I went ahead and installed 1.5 patch.

I played through the search for the History about Rivet City, the game play lagged a little, and near the last room I saw a couple of images blinking on and off on my screen in the background image.

Something on my computer software was getting triggered so I saw a square pop up into the picture showing a magnifying glass and a rectangle showing a line that displayed my user file and a few links to a sub-folder. It flashed on and off several times, and was so fast I could not read it until I stopped watching the movement and just pressed the walk button to observe the blinking images.

They occurred while my character was moving into the last room.

I thought I might have left something else running, but when I quit the game there was nothing present on the desktop or on the side bar.

I know what the tool icon is, but what the games software was doing raising that list of folders into the background too, stumps me.

It could cause crashing on computers with less RAM or Video Card RAM than mine.

After thinking I was in the clear I'm back on the CTD bandwagon. After the 1.5 patch update I was getting crashed all over, after removing the 'Megaton Contracts' mod everything was running smoothly again. Fast-foward ~3 hours of playing time, after finishing 'Agatha's Song' sidequest the game now crashed the next time I attempt to save (be it through auto or manual saving). Based on the info I have on my own setup, I have no idea what has caused the new upswing in problems, no mods added, updated, or removed since the crashing started and I was finishing an in-game sidequest.

I got a Space Marine armor mod, and when i went to try it out, GFWL made me patch, so I did... And now I can load my game, I can fast travel, but any door I try to go through crashes the game. I have a lot of item mods, but not so much in the way of buildings and lands. I guess I do have a little of that though.
