Actually, there is a basis in history for that design on a sword, though.

In the days of plate armor you would often have a sword with a spiked pommel

because a smooth one would just glance off if you decided to hit someone with it,

which if you've ever done broadsword fencing you know there's no fancy 'touches'

you just try and beat the crap out of the other person.

Personally, I REALLY like the look of those new weapons.

The staff looks like it should actually be in the game already.

I might also add that I think at LEAST most of the weapons and armors should have scripted effects on them. Like someone else said, when you get a huge mod, the first thing you do is run straight for the armor and weapons to judge them. And if Dungeons Of Ivellon taught me anything, it's that scripted effects and 3D effects on a weapon will outweigh a cool design.

And as my final opinion of the post, SOMETHING should summon the fire avatar of Akatosh for a few seconds.

:( sorry i was a bit annoyed at that point got some personal bad news :/

no problem. Hope everything's OK.

As far as the whole being though to stab yourself on that part of the sword, if you were fighting, your hand moves around a bit... could happen.

But obviously that's not an issue in oblivion, and the design looks cool. I'm just a bit of a nutcase about those things. I love the staff, though.
