David Brasher
If you are a young character who can't kill Will-o-The-Wisps, go jump in the river and swim underwater to get as far away as you can. They are not really good with water. Be sure to get really far away from them though. They do sometimes float out above the water following you. I hate Clannfears! Ignore the Xivili, kill his Clannfear! If I am not playing a magic-user, I like to use a long claymore to hit things like Clannfears, Mountain Lions, Bears, Ogres, and Storm Atronachs which have generally unblockable attacks which always seem to stagger you. It is sort of like being at bat in baseball. Minotaurs are sort of slow. When attempting to travel the roads, I can often just run past the Minotaur and keep on running. They can't keep up and eventually give up. Minotaurs don't have good treasure, so I don't care to stick around and fight them. If I have to fight one to complete a dungeon, save a damsel in distress, or save some rookie Imperial legionaire on patrol, I like to use ranged magic or a claymore. I don't like standing close to them. I have never fought Umbra. She has always been civil to me, and I am not one to pick a fight. I respect her privacy and leave. She seems like such a tortured soul. That sword is cursed. The orc in Morrowind who carried that sword didn't seem too happy with life either. I have no idea how the current holder of the sword got it from the Nereverine. Maybe the Nereverine realized the sword was unlucky and sold it at a pawn shop. AzirAphale001
Most of my characters tend to run in and smash everything in sight, but sometimes will stop and think. If I can't beat them then I run away.
Adamalmighty
There is one strategy that will work against anything thats not resistant to frost. Cast on the ground(at your feet) a frostdamage spell that has area effect and duration effect, draw your weapon, swing it about, and stand your ground. If you can cast a big enough spell, then pretty much anything short of a frost golem will be dead at your feet. As for frosty stick a fireball or two down his throat, if he aint go one, make one. Success in combat is less about leaning you opponants' habits, and more about exploiting their weakness. It matters not how fast they run nor how high they jump, only that you hit them harder and more frequently. And if you find this simply makes them angry, run and hide, for distance and darkness are ally to all. Does anyone know of a 'Pike staff' mod!?!There is no more a lethal weapon of one piece, nor one so reliable as the legendary "Big Pointy Stick!"Wooden pikes were easy to keep sharpe, steel ones are hollow so the blood runs fast and they dont believe in armour(so they just ignore it when it happens). Halororor
Well, one strategy I can add is to never jump on top of rocks in the wilderness and think you're safe from whatever is chasing you. They eventually 'run' up the rock.
Germandeathkittiez
I usually end up fighting high level human-shaped npcs in Aylied Ruins (ones that will attack with bow and arrow) probably because my favorite place to fight is Aylied Ruins. I take a bow and arrow, stick to the corners, I shift from side to side from the corner I'm at really fast (cornering) and shoot. This tactic (usually) allows me not to get hit, while firing at the enemy. Though it can be a very boring process, helps in desperate situations when I have no health and eventually the most godly manifestations will fall to me (unless they just run at me with blade then I'm screwed)
Master Marksman
Liches: Liches are undoubtedly dangerous to both melee and magic based players. Ranged characters will be able to take them out from a relatively safe distance. So you can attempt one of three things: Ranged: Stealth and shoot. Its easier to fire from an elevated position as its much easier to strafe its health absorb and destruction spells. Because its dispel and silence spells will have little effect, you'll therefore have to watch its shield spell (it'll levitate and be covered with a slight white aura), and its summon spell. Usually, the shield spell will make your shots partially weaker, and you'll find that taking out the summon while stealthed will make you job easier. If you can kill the lich in your first two shots, do so as it will try to summon first, then probably shield. Melee: You'll want to close the gap as fast as possible. Start by sneaking, then when your detected, sprint towards it. If it tries to summon, you can go for the summon, but its more effective to power attack the lich itself, better more if you get it before it shields itself. You'll probably want to hot-key some fatigue and/or health potions as it will hit you with destruction and absorbing spells. You may want to circle it to make it harder for it's summon to get you. Magic: This will be very hard, because of the massive magical defense. With 25% of spell absorbtion, reflect spell and resist magic, your only choice will be to hit it hard with long duration fire spell, then stealthing under invisibility. It not fun, but it beats dying.
