Drazius
Hm I read the Post from Quarn here: http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=985364 and Bug#1 I already reproduced myself :/ But I`m not going back, because of the V.A.T.S. improvements. For me it was the 1st crash since nearly 4 months. Hope they fix it soon. I know what you mean. I was originally going to roll back and use the fake patch, but I'm going to just wait and mod until a fix is released. And if they don't fix it, well you can always use the fake patch and have a 100% working VATS.

I am currently using the Fake Patch to avoid having to reinstall, but I'll probably end up having to do that because it seems that the new Fallout.esm is breaking things where I am very unhappy about it (i.e. FOOK weapons, etc.). rain_man
I patched to 1.5 and couldn't load into megaton at all. 1.4 too me seems more stable atm. BS isn't out yet so i'm not worried.
Nero25
does fook overhaul and xfo overhaul have problems with the new patch?
Deleted559516User
does fook overhaul and xfo overhaul have problems with the new patch? Well, my Supermutants won't use anything but vanilla weapons now, so I'm thinking perhaps...
Nero25
quick question what is this fake patch i keep reading about? Is it compatible with the new dlc? I have patch 1.4 can i still use the fake patch? what exatcly does fake patch do? Fallout 3 forum "only to the fools left using 1.5 Most of us have given up hope and moved to fake patch. (meaning you don't need to worry, that much. Unless you, for whatever reason, WANT to be compatible with 1.5)"
Skotte
@Nero, the >Fake Patch< essentially tries to emulate the fixes of 1.4 without the downside from http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=970907 "Description: This is simply an .esm file containing all the official edits to date applied to Fallout3.esm from the consecutive official patches. It allows the user to have their game effectively patched to 1.4.0.6 minus the VATS changes introduced in the newer Fallout3.exe's, a quick fix for the interim until a newer patch is released. This allows for, if used properly, use of DLC, FOSE, and the last Fallout version which VATS worked as intended with, namely v1.0.0.15, and all in tandem." Markmid
Come one, for me it works fine. Are you really sure that the Patch is causing this? It brought a lot of improvements. The official Patch 1.5 is a disaster for any already released mods. http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=986090 Persistent references disappearing, skin problems, navmeshes being overwritten, crashes from objects not being where they should, the list goes on. Only upgrade if you want a headache.
phoneyLogic
Yep, I see. I just had only Mods installed, which doesn't crash.Meanwhile, I also read the Post from Quarn as linked from buddah (thanks mate) and made two Testplugins and verified exactly the same. This is really awful, right. But otherwise not all Mods are effected. So you can choose:playing every Mod (with Fake-Patch, or official until 1.4)or playing Broken Steel (with only a view Mods, because of the Patch 1.5)I - for myself - had no effected Mod installed. So why should I roll back?
Markmid
Yep, I see. I just had only Mods installed, which doesn't crash.Meanwhile, I also read the Post from Quarn as linked from buddah (thanks mate) and made two Testplugins and verified exactly the same. This is really awful, right. But otherwise not all Mods are effected. Not all mods are obviously effected but most subtly are. Any weapon you have outdoors 'poof', any NPC that was meant to walk to that location 'poof', any object which is required for outside handling 'poof' You get the idea. Some mods will function with a few lost features features, some mods will break with a few lost features and some mods will outright crash your game. So you can choose:playing every Mod (with Fake-Patch, or official until 1.4)or playing Broken Steel (with only a view Mods, because of the Patch 1.5) It is fairly likely broken steel will get fake patch support also, let us cross our fingers. I - for myself - had no effected Mod installed. So why should I roll back? I don't think anyone in this thread was telling you what to do? I said only upgrade if you want a headache. Murphy's law if you use a few mods, you will have a big headache at one point in a mod somewhere, which messes up your savegame beyond repair and probably at a point you cannot go back from.
