Immersion Mod Suggestion

We've all seen Skyrim's weather mod Frostfall right? Has there been an attempt to make something like it for fallout nv or 3? im relatively sure they run on the same engine, but I've no experiance in modding to attempt something so advanced.

But it could include extra dehydration when in the desert at mid day, with lower SPECIAL stats. the white storm hats could have use protecting yourself and maybe other things to keep the heat off, as the cloaks in skyrims mod do

What you're looking for is Ambient Temperature + Imps More Complex Needs or Imps Timescale Adjuster. Dehydration rate becomes affected by things like temperature and humidity, which changes throughout the day (and year!) based on real weather data for the Las Vegas area.

Make sure to bring plenty of water with you when you walk up the 95 or the 15 in the middle of the day during hot summer months!

Edit: My head was so far up my butt that I just now (after the fact) realized that you weren't asking _for_ suggestions on mods to improve immerssion but were in fact making a suggestion..huh.how 'bout that. I REGRET NOTHING!

Disregard dudeman325's response, here is a list of the best mods for immersion. I consider immersion the atmosphere and feel of the game, but if needless tediousness is your immersive i got you covered there too. I'll divide them into 2 sections.

"Atmosphere and..'Feel'"

1.Nevada skies- http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/35998/?

Absolutely amazing lighting and weather mod, very adjustable too, it makes the environment so much more epic. It has an optional 'darker nights' plugin as well which is just nifty. Also has a winter wasteland plugin so its all ice...Look its just awesome. and It goes great with

2. Interior lighting overhaul - http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/35794/?

Awesome lighting for..interiors. While nevada skies has a plugin for interiors done with URWL, you don't want that..URWL is garbage..its for bums. But your not a bum are you? NO, your a contender, so you want ILO.

3.Fallout New Vegas Redesigned V2. - http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/39218/?

A "face replacer" mod for NV. Not one of those retarded ones either that turns everyone in the post-apocalyptic wild west into some doe-eyed lady-gaga-esque piece of crap either.

Nah, this mod is even crazier because it accomplishes what was thought to be impossible..It makes the characters in a Bethesda game look..human. Its wild, really good mod.

4.EVE (essential Visual enhancements)- http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/42666/?

A nifty mod contains many visual improvement, mainly dealing with energy weapons. Adds awesome effects when firing them..awesome kill scenes, effects on the environment. Worth having even if you don't use energy weapons because it even makes getting hit with energy weapons cooler. I don't use energy weapons myself because I was raised with a little something called Class. But both my pet robot Eddie and my pet boy-toy on the dl Arcade use them. Dude, its good stuff.

5. Poco Beuno textures- http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/42028/

This is the Performance pack but it has links to higher res packs

Poco Beuno doesn't get the respect it deserves when it comes to textures. Everyone is all about the Nmc's.

Nmc are good textures the thing is, In my opinion (which is also fact), they aren't that good. There is just more of them, so much more so in fact that unless you are running a uber rig count on a respectable hit in performance.

And While everything will be covered in huge textures, they don't look good enough to justify the size of the mod. You also won't miss them when they are gone. Poco Bueno has packs in all sorts of differents resolutions, and while the PB's don't retexture as many things, the things it does are just awesome.

Its just a statement of fact (opinion).

Immersion through tediousness.

1.Project Nevada- http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/40040/?

That says it all, Yeah there are mods with a few more advanced settings here and there, but it all boils down to them taking one aspect of something somebody else did and going a step further then anybody needs or wants.

For that reason PN is really all you need. You can adjust various settings relating to your primary needs, food, water, sleep. Damage, stat and skill modifiers. HOw rare loot, food , ammo and chems are, How outrageous barter prices will be. Recoils, Wep Spread...sigh, and so on and so forth.

In between making you adjust settings for how many burritos you have to each day an such, Pn even manages to add some actuall game content, like additions to cyberware and enhanced stealth fields.

When it comes to bogging players down with tons of settings affecting the minutia of your character's everyday bullcrap. No mod holds a candle to Pn. It is truly breathtaking in its ability to not inspire people...

2.a.) One Hud- http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/44757//?

2.b) unified Hud- http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/38961/?

Those are mods made by Gopher, the friendly guy from all the web-tube moving pictures who has that delightful accent.

Perhaps more importantly its everything you need to customize your HUD in whatever way you see fit. (Your father will just have to live with it, its YOUR CHOICE, not his!!) Not only what kinds of things to show (there are many), but where you want to place them, and most key is the ability to decide when they are even there, so that way your HUD doesn't interfere with your view as you take screenshots of the shameful things you do in alleyways in freeside. But will automatically appear for certain conditions that you set.

Compatible with other hud stuff too, but really thats all you need.

All of the mods I've listed are popular, so they have pretty well laid out (and easy) instructions for installing them. Furthermore, Gopher (he of accent and you-tube fame) has several videos on installing these mods and others, Just youtube "modding fallout nv" or "fallout new vegas mod clinic" or..ya know "Fallout nv gopher vid".

There are many more mods out there but these are the go-to mods. Peoples opinions on some may differ, Not everyone would agree with the mod list I gave you. Which is fine, I have long accepted that for whatever reason many people like being wrong.

Lol, that does fit pretty well huh?

There are tons of good things out there to try, so I wasn't actually trying to insult dudeman, I just that list is pretty much the most all around excellent way to set up your game for immersion, throw some AWOP and new vegas bounties in there for some action and you got yourself a vid-ya game partner!
