bebbe777
Beth is really smart. First they give us a modding tool; GECK. Then they release a patch so our mods doesnt work. Are they idiots or what. Maybe they are jealous of the moding communities ability to make great mods.
painweaver
i agree the vanilla weapons are unbalanced/lamesauce. and some effects are left to be desired but thanks to the moding community there are killer weapons with great textures and sounds. armor is more functional. and overall gameplay is awsome with mods. some reason i die more too :) love the realism. anyways haveing to reinstall is gonna suck ill have to put that off till i decide to wipe my hard drive :( time to go ask for more mods :-p

Just uninstall it, then immediately reinstall to the same location. All your mods and so on will still be intact in the Fallout 3 Data folder, the game doesn't remove or alter them at all if you reinstall it. Then just apply the version of patch you want and away you go. This of course also leaves your savegames and ini files all intact as well.
TGBlank
Yep, the game doesn't even remove the fallout.ini, so even your options survive.

TGBlank
One thing to keep in mind:If you backup your esm and your fallout.exe, you can safely upgrade, and have both versions installed at the same time. While this isn't of use to most players, it is of use for modders who wish to check for compatibility.
