I hate armorsmith extended

So that thing that happened like a month ago where my game would randomly crash every time i inspected a legendary armor piece, that was weird, but i ended up doing two things one was unninstalling AE and the other one was building a hatred for anything that is related to AE in any way, shape or form, but that aside im now triying to download customizable vault suits https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/26456?tab=description because i dont feel like wasting 2 euros on a mod, but guess what? AE IS A REQUIREMENT.

I guess now that i have to download the darn thing i need to fix the issue my game had that made me quit fallout 4 for about 10 days,

if anyone knows how to fix this, had the same problem or just wants to add something of value to this thread, just do it

https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/11930613-armorsmith-extended-mod-keeps-making-my-game-crash-when-i-grab-legendaries/?view=findpost&p=114284508&hl=armorsmith this is the first thread i did about the same problem

Heyas Sansito!

Ok, so first off, I'm REALLY sorry that I missed your thread about that. Dunno how that happened.

Secondly, I've had big trouble with those two mods also, but Especially with awkcr. The version that I got from the nexus gave me repeated problems. The version of it that I got from bethesda.net thru the IN-game mod manager gave me no issues. Try that out.

However, that was before the game version .162/.163 so if the version on beth.net has been updated, that may not be the fix anymore. I dunno. I took a big fat PASS on the game update.

ALSO However. IF that version has not been updated on beth.net, it's for the previous .138 game version.

You will need to have this, in order for it to work if you have the latest, greatest (Sure Todd....) version of the game, .163.

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/42497

You will ALSO need THAT mod, because the Customizeable Vault Suit mod was uploaded in 2017, about 2 years before the first NightMare Update in November 2019.

Thirdly. I got armorsmith to work by loading it BELOW anything else that overhauls clothing. AWK something something, is a .esm file, so it loads itself at the top.

Forthly. (LOL OMG...) You might want to check out UCO, as it also adds some customization to armor and clothing pieces. INCLUDING an option to make vanilla armors INVISIBLE. VERY helpful, if you want to be able to show off those new customized suits without the armor messing up your looks! (Especially if you're wearing Synth armor   ) https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/18489

I have it listed directly above AE in my LO. The only conflict that I have there, is that AE nixes out UCO's Legendary attach point, but that was already nixed by AWK whatever whatever. But I still have a legendary slot, because of anything that is compatible with AWK alphabet alphabet. (In case you haven't noticed, there's too many letters there in that name for my ADHD and dyslexia to keep track of.....)

Lastly (I think...I hope...!) A mod that you "may" want to check out, if you are looking to the get maximum performance out of your gear, is ECO. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/55503

I'm still learning this mod. It has a learning curve. As in 1) It requires it's own special work bench. BUT That workbench can serve as ANY workbench, so that makes up for it. 2) In order to Get the special features the mod adds to things, you have to ACTIVATE that feature, AT the workbench. It doesn't automatically do it. (At least, not in MY LO).

So if I want it to add a legendary slot, I have to activate User Legendaries. If I want to have more than one legendary slot, I have to activate how many slots that I want it to have.

If I want it to have an extra Misc slot, I have to activate that. Etc Etc Drek cetera. This mod, I have listed at nearly the bottom of my LO.

Ok, done. My fingers hurt, and I'm making hella typos! LOL.

Good luck, happy gaming!

Funny, I have read a lot of post stating that AWKCR and AE are dated and not longer worth installing. They may very well be, but, they work fine for me. I'm too lazy and worried about needing another break from FO4 to totally re-do my load order and start from scratch.
Anyway, If you feel the same way you can follow the instructions on this mod-page: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/40666

They are very simple and concise, plus, the mod contain a FOMOD installer that automatically detects which mods in your current load need patching.
Good luck!

Oh, AE needs to be at or near the bottom of your load order.

.................... :wallbash:

Sansito: Only if you throw a big "please" in there......

1) You will still need to reference my previous post. This is just an abbrev.

2) Uninstall the version that you have, and Download the version of AWKRC (CR?) from bethesda.net thru the INGAME mod downloader, see if that version works better for you.

3) In your load order, make sure that AE is below any other mods that add a lot of function to clothing. (As both Edge and I advised you.)

4) Check out the version number check remover mod that I linked above, you will need it.

5) Get it working, then check out the other mods I recommended.

6) Get your head checked, your ADHD is MUCH more severe than mine!

So ok, I read the addition that you've made to your sig.

Here's an explanation of Load Order. Yes, it could be long. No there is no TLDR;

Load order is how games load up, or initialize mods that are installed into the game.

Load Order applies, when a game uses a List, in which to keep track of the mods.

Some games initialize the mods alphabetically. Either how they are listed by their location in the game's folder, which would be alphabetically. There are a few games that go at it backwards, and start at the bottom of the folder, and work their way up. So from Z to A to number.

Load. When the game reads and starts the mod.

Order. Ummm... yeah that's self explanatory.

It is the list that tells the game, when to start reading the mods, when the game starts up.

For Fallout4, that Load Order (LO) also assigns a number, to the items that are created by mods. So like, if you have a gun mod listed at #17 in your LO, then the first 2 numbers assigned to anything from that mod, will start with 17.
