smockedLD
I'm setting up a new computer with Windows 11, and upon downloading and launching Vortex, it closed and said there was already a running instance and to check the task manager. My task manager doesn't show any tasks under Vortex. The error persists through several reinstalls, restarts, and changing install locations. It occurs whether it's a brand new install trying to automatically launch or if I manually launch it after a restart, and whether I run it normally or as an administrator. If anyone has any ideas for a potential fix, I'd greatly appreciate any advice.

Solution Pickysaurus Posted October 3, 2022 Solution Share Posted October 3, 2022 Try restarting your PC. Alternatively, you may need to remove the %appdata%\Vortex folder as it might have been corrupted in some way (note, this resets Vortex back to defaults and cannot be undone). smockedLD
It took some digging, but it turned out there were some left over Vortex files from when I moved my users folder from my old PC that weren't showing up under normal search criteria that were causing the issue. Thank you for the help!
