spanian77
Have you notice that even during nights all shadows are produced by..the sun?? I mean check it ingame and you will see,the bad thing is that if you are a person that enjoy the landscape-sky of this game(and who doesn't..) and you notice it then it will bother you most of the time..however with all these tweaks/mods that add\increase flora you won't notice it all the time but it is there.Maybe it was too much trouble to have different shadows day-sun , night moon(depending of it's phases) but who veteran modder will try to fix this-unrealstic- issue ? Is it even possible ? Edited November 11, 2013 by spanian77
spanian77
So not a single member is annoyed by this and not one modder knows if this is even possible, right ?
Shadeybladey
Maybe you should have posted it in Mod Requests?I have not really noticed myself, in 20 months of wilderness wandering. I do know that there are a lot of things in Skyrim that annoy a lot of people in different ways. The weak quests, poor graphics sometimes, the rubbish interface and inventory, the poor controls, the lack of skills, the paucity of magick, dragons and vampires turning cities into Ghost Towns, being railroaded by the Blades in the Paarthurnax quest, how easy it is, the dumbing down compared with Daggerfall and Morrowind, the hand-holding and quest markers, black and white map symbols, general bugs and glitches, night-time, interiors, caves and dungeons being far too bright when there is no light source etc etc. I also know that a lot of these things have been fixed and modded. I also know that mod authors make mods for themselves because these things annoy them so much or they would just prefer things another way they go to enormous effort to mod them. Then they test them and have friends beta test them and then make them available for others to use. I also know that few people can do everything - some are very good at graphics, meshes and textures. Others are good at quests, dialogues and scripting mods. Others are good at recipe overhauls etc. I also know that most modders start out knowing nothing at all and find out how to make a mod because there is something that particularly interests them. If you look at my mods, for example, they tend to involve mini-quests, recipes, new perks and new spells and weapons with a little bit of scripting. That is because there was something I wanted to do, I found out how with a lot of help from the forums and managed to make something that worked, even if it is not all that great. It was then easier to do something similar. That's why my mods basically use the same sorts of ideas - because that is all I have learned so far. I also know that this is why if you look at a lot of mods made by certain people, they tend to also use similar strategies and ideas - because that is where their expertise lies. I also know that if anyone was so moved by Moon shadows that they wanted to do something about it, they would have found out how and done it by now. But I have absolutely no idea if it is even possible to make the Moons cast multi-shadows that change direction and intensity as the Moons move. But I do know that it is not something I would be interested in doing, even if I could. At the moment, I am more interested in turning out interior lights when NPCs go to bed and turn them on again when they get up in the morning. Is it possible? No idea. But it is something that grabs me a lot more than the Moons, so it's something I am willing to look in to. I might spend weeks with no results, but it's something I would like to have for immersion for burglars breaking in. ~.~
qqqbbb
Sun shadows at night can be removed with imagespace adapter but making moon cast shadows will be hard. I found 2 game settings that could be related to it: fMasserAngleShadowEarlyFade fSecundaAngleShadowEarlyFade but did not notice any difference after changing them. turning out interior lights when NPCs go to bed and turn them on again when they get up in the morning.Use GetCurrentGameTime() and disable light sources. Shadeybladey
Use GetCurrentGameTime() and disable light sources. Is that all that's needed? A script that does that? I don't want it to work on Inns and taverns, or dungeons, caves and castles, just houses and shops. There are already mods for darker caves etc. ~.~
qqqbbb
Easiest way to do it is to attach scripts to lightsources. Right way to do it is to dynamically attach scripts. Have a look at fire hurts mod. Edited November 17, 2013 by qqqbbb

I also wish you good luck on that mod idea of yours. Now that you brought it up, it would be a great addition. The only problem is you may have to edit EVERY light source, and that would be a pain... Also, good luck OP on your idea. Edited December 17, 2013 by MostlyMuggie
