papakat420 Posted October 15, 2022 Share Posted October 15, 2022 dont know if this will help ---but i never launch Steam to play modded games like SSE and FO4 i only launch through Vortex dont even open Steam and this prevents the accidental update due to lag. this works because you dont ever launch through Steam and therefore never gets checked for updates. showler Posted October 16, 2022 Share Posted October 16, 2022 Terrible advice. Games like Skyrim use Steam as DRM and require Steam to be running in order to play. If Steam is not already running in the background when you launch Skyrim, even with the SKSE launcher, it will automatically start up.
