A proposal to move sexually explicit mods into seperate sections withi

I have no problem with the creation and distribution of sexually explicit mods. I have several of such mods for Oblivion, Morrowind, and Fallout 3. Mods such as Better Bodies, HGEC, Apachii Goddes Store, and DIMONized bodies. I'm sure there are more that I've forgotten about. I'm not here to debate whether such mods are immoral or not. I don't really care. I'm here to discuss a proposition to move such mods into seperate folders in order to prevent users who don't wish to see such content from viewing it. As it is now, it is almost impossible to search through Oblivion clothing mods without stumbling into explicit images.

These mods have become prolific to the point that it seems every clothing mod involves just 4" of cloth.

1) Mods need to be flagged as adult/explicit if they contain nudity (be it explicit or via transparent clothing) or other sexually explicit material (ie the infamous Sexblivion, Slof's boners, etc)

2) There needs to be way to block them from searches should the user desire to do so. Like a toggle on/off button or checkbox.

3) Mods that contain no explicit material should contain no explicit screenshots. I've seen hair mods with screenshots of naked females. Is this really necessary? Users caught adding explicit images to 'clean' mods should be punished, be it a temporary ban or banning them from uploading images.

Why am I even bringing this up? Personally, I always get nude mods for characters because it adds to the atmosphere. Sometimes I get sexy clothes mods for female characters because I'm bored. Most of the time I play a female character and I look for cool female clothes. Sadly, a lot of female clothes mods are comically skimpy and some just aren't there at all. Nudity doesn't bother me, but these sex and banana/strap on/sex animation mods do. People should be able to browse through the Nexus without even stumbling into this stuff.

:thanks:

The user has the option to not see adult material, it is in the members area:

from the file sites on the upper right you will see a link for "members"

Click on that.

Find this link: "Change your site preferences"

scroll down and set the filter to either Block or Allow adult content.

If you find something without an adult content flag, use the report button and tell us and we will set one.

When moderators and staff are logged nothing is blocked so we won't see if the filters have been set and have to manually check the file settings.

I understand what you're saying in your post because I've felt the same way but after awhile I realized that we are the absolute minority on this site and nobody really gives a crap what we may find unnecessary. I'm under the impression, like the real world media, it's all about ratings and traffic. How many people will view my image, how many people will download my mod, how many thumbs up or high ratings can I get?....Well, since the majority of people on this site are boys/guys and a few girls with suppressed sexual fantasies then the obvious easy way to achieve these goals is a no-brainer. So, of course there's going to be an over abundance of these kinds of mods and images. I don't think they're going to change the way the site is displayed for a wee small percentage of us who'd like to see more brawn than way oversized, down right scary boobies.

It would be nice but I don't think it's going to happen. I find it's best just to play along and try to maintain a sense of humor. It is pretty funny how outrageous things can get when they really let loose.

The "adult content" button isn't quite right because sometimes there isn't any nudity but the images are very sexual in nature and sometimes there is nudity but there is no sexual content. I find some nudity images rather artistic and beautiful.

That's a rather offensive generalization.

I couldn't agree more.

Speak for yourself, you're the one with the erotic image as an avatar.

Pineapple is right, the adult content button doesn't really work. For example, I was able to access the Apachii Goddess Store mod while adult content was blocked (I did report this). The page contains several explicit screenshots.

Growlf's Animated Hair contains explicit screenshots, but is still viewable.

Come on, Apachii's has gotten through the loop? It's just the most downloaded clothing mod for Oblivion. /sigh

Slof: I think Pineapple was just making a hasty generalization out of frustration. The fact is many people don't want to see a significant portion of this content. I have a feeling that more people would speak out if they weren't afraid that they would get banned or w/e. Negative feedback for explicit mods leads to bans and people always say if you "don't like it, stay away." The problem with that is that the Nexus is the best mod site for Bethesda games. Where else are you supposed to go? PES is a joke, the upload times for it are obscene and many modders avoid it altogether.

Another problem is that blocking adult content doesn't block it from showing up searches. It's very annoying to click on a mod and find that it is blocked. Why couldn't it have simply been filtered out? If I'm blocking adult content I'd really like to not know about Sexblivion while searching through animations or strap ons while searching through clothes. The filters could stand to be improved.

I have reviewed the above files and set the adult tags on those that are appropriate. Provocative/sexy does not necessarily mean adult content, the dirtiest thing in the world is the human mind....it can imagine the most profane of vulgarities.

I have to maintain a sense of humor when I look at a lot of the images and mods on this site. Because when I become offended, I am hit with "It's fantasy..." as I was in another post when we were discussing the realism and I was told "If you don't like it than don't look at it." Um, yeah, easier said than done as the OP has written about. So, my response to her was that of "Maintain a sense of humor and just go along with it-there are a lot of young boys/guys and some girls here with suppressed sexual fantasies"...if you find that offensive than so be it. Take a good look at the "Image Share" and it's quite obviously the case. To deny it doesn't make any sense since it's said time and time again all throughout these threads that the images and mods aren't to be taken to be realistic and therefore not offensively because they're just fantasy.

I'm just rephrasing in my own words what has been told to me. Except the sense of humor part, that's all me. A lot of these images and mods are really very funny.

To thealraz_ka: No, I'm no longer frustrated. I wrote that in good spirit. It wasn't in any way a put down. Heck, read some of the comments I've made to some of the images. I have some suppressed sexual fantasies of my own. How many Yums and Slurps have I posted? I'm not putting anyone down.
