Cyberpunk 2077 Modding Through Vortex - How to elevate?

Hi there, I just downloaded 9 exciting mods for Cyberpunk through NexusMods/Vortex. I follow all the steps and run Cyberpunk from the Vortex Launcher... to have none of the mods in the game. I don't have a Mod control tab so can infer it didn't work.

I believe the issue is to Elevate the Vortex client, however I can't for the life of me find this function. I also downloaded Vortex Support, does that change anything?

Please help as I really want to try these mods but I'm high so I'm tripping about how I can't run them lol.

Thanks in advance <3

Did you click the bell icon in the top-right of Vortex. Chances are there's an important message there that you missed.

If you can't elevate when prompted that's going to be a config problem on your PC.

I would recommend going to Settings -> Mods and move the Mod Staging Folder to the same HDD as your game, then change Deployment Type to hardlink. This way it doesn't require elevation.

Hi Pickysaurus, thanks for your quick response! So I couldn't find anywhere to actually get the prompt to elevate, which I thought might be the issue.

I did however manually identify the folder which Cyberpunk 2077 is in (in D drive) and created the mods folder in my D drive as well. I then selected the hardlink deployment type. Throughout this process the only time I got an error and was prompted to fix was when I moved the folder to D drive and clicked Hardlink.

I am now wondering if there is something else that's not right - I get no error messages and all the mods are "Enabled" + I launch it from the Vortex client. Could it be that I chose a wrong folder within Cyberpunk for the client to manage?

Under managed games I see Cyberpunk, also visible in my profile. I tried and failed to add some screenshots... hope my explanation helps you understand my situation.

Thanks again in advance! I really hope to be able to play with mods

Update: I realized I haven't downloaded the files/mods under the tab "Requirements". For Lifepath updates mod, it says I need the redscript mod, which doesn't require any other mods.

When I go to download that mod, let it open with Vortex and click download (downloaded multiple times by now I think) it always gives me an error that reads "Requesting url 'https://api.nexusmods....' failed with status '500'. This code is usually the responsibility of the server and will likely be temporary"

However I tried time and time again + with other mods that are requirements for the ones I want to play, and I always get that error. I think this is it, if I solve this I can play modded. Any suggestions?

Thanks again!
