Texture problems/Weird dot pattern

I seam to be getting a texture problem in some parts of the game. A series of dots will show up when I do or look at certain things. It can range from small ( muzzle flash on my gunshot) to large (in dust clouds). It seems to be connected to things that are semi-transparent like bushes, certain parts of peoples hair, dust, muzzle flash, ect. Here are some screenshots I took although the problem is somewhat less present in them. You might have to zoom in a bit to see what I'm talking about. Any help would be appreciated.

This will happen with zero mods installed.

(Edit) Fixed by turning off transparency multisampling in detail settings I guess there was already a thread on it here http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/757486-checkered-textures-with-transparency-multisampling-on/ but could not find it until I knew what the problem was.

You could use super sample AA which you can set in your GPUs control panel, I found no performance difference between in game 4xMSAA and 4x Supersampling forced in the control panel, the later looking far better as well as removing the need for transparency multisampling.

I have the same issue (mainly on the bushy type of brownish yellow grass) It looks almost like i"m staring at a CRT display close up. It never bothered me that much, I actually had chalked it up to the visor overlays in Project Nevada, even though those block are larger and obviously intended around the edges of googles, lol.

Has anyone had success forcing graphic settings such as AA on AMD cards via the Catalyst control center?

Yes, I use 4x supersampling forced in CCC, the in game AA and transparency multisampling are disabled.

Jim,

Mixed results. I experienced occasional micro stuttering with the settings @ 4x super samples, not too bad, still playable... but all is well with the AA setting at 2xEQ. It definitely looks a little better than the application settings. My experience with higher sampling rates is that the trade off (eyecandy vs. performance) is often not worth it. The difference at higher settings is very subtle. Just my opinion.

Then again, my Radeon HD 7770 (1gig) isn't exactly a beast.

Super sampling does tend to increase memory usage substantially so that probably didn't help, as long as you've got rid of those dots all is good, they used to drive me mad until I found out what they were.
