Andropolis454
Are there currently specific problems with modding The GoG release?I've had no luck at it. I'm using MO2 which seems to be working ok. It shows the 5 or 6 mods I've installed with it as being installed and activated and showing no problems, but only 1 is showing up in the game. I installed SKSE64, (the new version for GoG Skyrim 1.6.659), and start the game through it.I installed SkyUI through MO2 and activated it, but it doesn't show up in the game.I installed a few simple mods for testing and only the "increased firewood when splitting" mod works. As I said, the SKSE64 I installed and seems ok with the game is an update specifically for the Gog 1.6.659 release. So I guess what I'm trying to ask is this: Will all the mods have to be updated especially for the GoG version of Skyrim in order to work with it? I've been away from Skyrim, and Nexus for quite a while and am trying to get my head realigned with the current state of things. And I'm having to relearn a thing or two I'd forgotten. Any enlightenment will be appreciated.
showler
Only mods that use DLL files through SKSE should need to be updated. SkyUI, you might be having a problem with it unloading. This might help: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/67166 Other than that, if you have the add-on for MO2 to use the GOG version, your mods should work no problem. Andropolis454
Hey showler, thanks for the info.I didn't even know there was an MO2 add-on for GOG compatibility, I should have expected that.I thought the GOG version of SKSE64 would take care of it,I guess a lot of mods will have to be updated for SKSE though.I'll try to dig out the MO2 add-on ASAP. Thanks again
JIYONTEKUZA
No problem using Vortex. When I wasn't looking, my GOG SSE Vers. 1.6 was updated to version ABc123JKKL987dbR%63 or whatever. Yes, I did check the no updates box, but those are all fake anyway. So now keep my PC unplugged whenever my router is plugged in, and vice-versa.My X Box 1 SSE is Creation-Club-free, having remained off-line since the day before the Anniversary Edition. (Perfect with 82 mods.)Don't give up on trying to master making the game playable and fun. I have discovered how to purge all Creation Club content from both STEAM and GOG SSE, and also how to get rid of the Tutorial Messages. I suspect that my GOG update was for nothing more than to shove CC back in, but I got rid of it all once again.I download from the Nexus and other mod sites into my ancient Dell office computer, burn the mods to DVD, and then transfer into my gaming PC. I have DVDs from 3 years ago with good mods on them, ones that are no longer available.I visit the Nexus rarely, but it and the mods on it seem different each time, even when the mod authors claim to have abandoned a mod page 10 years ago. This might not seem interesting to you now, but in the future, we will need all these skills to get around the predatory monetization pay-to-win loot box subscription games as a service always on-line required that is sure to come.
