showler Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 Vortex installs mods by creating virtual links in the game folder(s) to the files in the staging folder instead of actually moving the files. "Purge mods" removes all those virtual links while keeping all the information Vortex has regarding conflict rules and priorities. Which means you can just hit "deploy" again to recreate all the links that "purge mods" removes. It's helpful for testing to see if your game is working correctly without mods or when you are having Steam/GoG/Epic/whatever "repair/verify" your game files.
