Unable to initialize Steam API

Hi all,

 

I suspect this is human error, but I can't for the life of me figure out what I'm doing wrong.

 

I haven't played Bannerlord for about a year and tried to use Vortex to install some of the mods I liked (and some new ones I saw), but any time I try to launch the game via Vortex, I get the same error message about "Unable to initialise Steam API". Unfortunately, I have no idea what this means or how to fix it.

 

 

Additional Information

 

What I have tried:

• Sorting mods
• Updating all mods
• Purging and then redeploying mods
• Running Vortex as Administrator
• Running Steam as Administrator (Edited after Pickysaurus' Comment)
• Running Steam in Offline, Online and Invisible modes (Edited after Pickysaurus' Comment)
• Reinstalling Vortex
• Reinstalling Bannerlord

 

Version Details and Mods

 

OS: Windows 10

Game: Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord

Game Version: 1.0.1.4441

Vortex Version: 1.6.14

Mods: 14 - See attached image

Is Steam not running in the background? That's usually why this comes up.

Yes, I have steam running.

 

As a result of your comment, I have also now tried running steam in online mode (I was invisible) and running Steam as admin. Unfortunately, neither made any difference.

You should be able to start the game with the TaleWorlds launcher if all else fails. Your loadorder will just be different to the one shown in the "Load order" tab of Vortex.
