VonHelton
There are 4 default cribs in the game. They are located in the workshop under "Decorations > Misc".When you stand next to one of these cribs & drop a baby, it lands in the crib. So, I got the bright idea to skin the cribs but no matter which crib I skin & no matter which files I choose, my cribs won't hold a baby, it hits the floor. So I checked out other furniture mods & their cribs won't hold a baby either! Any help is appreciated.     Edited November 11, 2022 by VonHelton

Fallout4Shepard
Well, I'm not a modder but since nobody is giving any point on it... maybe a brinstorming could help... And If the baby is also a skin texture not a physical item? I mean, maybe the cirb with the baby held is a skin of the crib itself. So, could be possible to make crib's skins as your designs that includes the baby on them? to be visible when you drop the baby. Or could be the original crib's skins tagged in some script linked to the baby? So, you should include your skins on that script? StormWolf01
This game does weird things sometimes when you start messing with the 3d models.I can't say that I have any idea why.Myself, I tried changing the model that the Supermutant Suicider uses for the mini nuke. After I changed the model that the weapon uses, it would no longer blow up.Also showed up at his feet, rather than in hand. But that's a model placement issue. But yeah. Totally glitched it out, no matter what, it woudn't blow up.So yeah, this game does weird things.

StormWolf01
Hahaha, yeah! It was!Very annoying too! I was testing everything I could think of to make it go off.Literally beating a supermutant with bare fists, with that incessant "beeping" going off .... arrrrgh! I know that in one case, there was a guy who had made a cage for a mini version of a mobile. In his particular case, the glitch was the boundary settings for the cage. They needed to be reset and adjusted. I dunno if it might be a collision issue with the cribs or not. I am curious, along the train of thought about it being collision.... do other objects drop straight through them? Or is it just the baby?
Blinxys
Uhm, I don't think the game knows what you are trying to do.Erm, I mean it doesn't really do what you think it should be doing. As in: the baby is a piece of clothing to the game, the "dropped" is a standard "Go" or world object (clothing). The Crib isn't actually a functional crib (with collision and all, its a looks-like-a-crib prop). The baby is dynamically created/included in the scene itself and also just a prop designed only for this particular scene.(It's specifically hard-wired in effect). Think back to the opening sequence...You never actually see your spouse pick up the baby, (it's swapped via a script somewhere). There is a mod (not on this site) that handles this [presumably] with scripts and custom cribs/babies along with a whole lot of other reproduction related features. Short of that you need to repurpose/replicate augment the game's script, or roll your own script/baby/crib collision. None of which sounds simple to me.

None of which sounds simple to me.Ya know.... that's what reminded me of the suicider!!! Because both the characters have it attached to their hand! I just now realized that. There's a video of funny moments in the game. This guy somehow managed to spawn a bear in the opening sequences, of pre-war. Nora, and several of the other NPCs outside the house went aggro, and went after it, melee style. Nora was LITERALLY clubbing the bear with the baby still in hand! mkay, so if that's a clothing item, that would also explain why I've never been able to find it looking for an NPC. While I don't know if it would react the same way as what happened with my little attempt at nif replacement... I Do know that the baby nif can be used as a substitute for other items in the game.Atomic Baby, big fat prime example. (Yes, thats a bad pun). The mod replaces the fat man shells with... guess who.... https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/475This is not a good example of how to actually do the replacer tho. because fat man shells have no collision settings, I am told, by a source I trust. pepperman35
The PlayerHouse_Crib01.nif appears to have collision as does the Baby.nif. The baby (BabyActivator) is not an actor and the crib (MQ101_PlayerHouse_CribActivator) is not furniture but I don't think these should matter too much. You'll find these assets under activators.
