I thnk oblivion would benifit form being a MMORPG from other replys I have read people think the system would reman as is.WRONG!!! If oblivion did become multi-player then limits would be set such as the inability to kill quest givers for the sake that someon might be trying to complete that quest. Items would respawn after a day or so(minding the fact that if you decided to camp and sleep it wouldnt respawn for you you would have to wait a whole day for it) If they do make it a MMORPG i hope they take off the revive statis cheats so that actuall animal unting parties can take place(when 2 or more players camp out near a creature respawn area to gain expiriance, animal respawning would be much faster like 2 min)Ill i can say is that I would like it to be a MMORPG,minding they dont add any stupid costs.

One thing I forgot in my last post that i just read would be there would be multiple identical worlds that all have a max player limit so it does not become over crowded but if a world becomes full then people would just move on to the next world (there all the same)

A co-op mode for up to, say, four people might be nice. Let the host create multiplayer saves and such, and have a Respawn Vitals option which respawns dead quest-important NPC's if they get killed, and puts, for example, quest-important items back to their original location if someone throws them into the sea.

Perhaps have two different options:

Co-op, where everyone shares quest rewards and their location in the continuing story.

And competitive, where everyone gets only what they get themselves. Someone who gets ahead of the others could kill off quest-vital NPC's to slow the others down(Maybe have them respawn after a while so it's not a permanent slowdown.).

Sleeping could be done when everyone agrees on it, then the server gets shunted X hours ahead for everyone who's asleep.

I think it would be very possible as long as people don't try for crazy stuff like 6+ player multiplayer games. Keep it nice and simple and it might work.

The only thing that I really miss in a lot of modern RPG's is a co-op mode. That would really make up for a lot of flaws, in my mind.

I think it would be lame... it would be Everquest2 or GuildWars, people who like Eder Scroll, the TRUE fans of the series, like the fact that you can play through the world without all the f*cking idiots that inhabbit the MMO world.

The idea of a multi-player mode is also lame because of the fact that it makes no sense with the construction set.

The construction set is one of the best things i have ever seen.

If I dont like an aspect of the game, ill change it. thats it. i dont have to piss'n'moan over some stupid spell or a idiot npc. If im playing it with one of these, its my fault for not changing it or finding a mod wich changes it for me.

Multplayer TES. Now there's an interesting concept.

I love TES as a single-player game. Why not have both?

I mean, Diablo 2 was both an MMORPG and an RPG at the same time.

Perhaps Beth could two versions of a TES, perhaps TESV. Where you could have a singleplayer char, playing in a singleplayer world, on his own.

Then you could a multiplayer version of the game. But not just one world inhabitited by all players, but as many as the players need, with a total of eight players per world (try and imagine the way D2 did it). Of course features like growing trees can be taken out, since they would longer be needed in such a situation.

:D i think that oblivion should be launched as a multi player online game but not the story line i have no idea what the story line is but im pretty sure its geared to single player gaming, the environment should be released with limited npcs that you can talk to, personaly i think you should be able to aqcuire land and use it to build up small comunities that farm and industrialise your lands are keep them wooded, it should be up to the player give the player freedom to do what he/she like's, build up small cities then wage war upon rival cities are have aliances with your neighbers, personaly im fed up of games that give a small amount of freedom show you beautiful cities and scenary and all you can do is for a fleeting moment be there, personaly i think there could be more to online gaming, for instance npc's to do your bidding and a few choice pc's to work as your body gaurds are your enemys.

Now wouldnt that be nice, made better by oblivions perfect architecture.

the single player version of the game could be sold to ppl who like that kind of thing and the multi player could be packaged to the ppl who like mmorpg.

I would play it, you could even have a few npc kingdoms to get you started.

In the begining your gonna need money, you could go out of the main gates of the starting kingdom and go kill things even do a few little missions like kill bandits find gems, lvl up a few times buy smoe land build a house build two houses ans so on till you have a small town then go to war, i'd really like that :laugh2:

although most would like it (so would i) i still think that it will b a bad idea.

everyone will b online instead of normal game. unless or shopkeepers rejuvenate their supply of goods regularly (which would make it far 2 easy) nobody would b able 2 get wot tha want coz some1 else has already bought it.

the barterers wud hav no money coz some1 else cheated them out of it.

on various thieves guild quests, u hav 2 steal stuff, which has already been stolen by some1 else

all daedric ruins would b empty coz some1 else already raided them

most (if not, all) quests would have been done by some1 else so there'd b nothing 2 do

various high or mid level ppl would often try 2 slaughter other mid or low level ppl and i gotta admit, 1 of those ppl would b me

on the other hand, i think most would luv it, regardless or sometimes even because of wot i just said. although i guess it wud b fun 2 have sort of like a co op with my best mates and sum strangers i've never met before in my life.

all the same, the cons easily outweigh the pros, i wud like it, but i think that for the above reasons, it will probably never happen.

Peregrine's post deleted. Being inflammatory, as usual. I know it's pointless trying to tell you but please use more tact when posting your opinions of other posters. :P

But yes Dagoth vs. Fargoth, if you could use a little bit less of the "wot 4 lol plz some1 yeh" in your posts that would be good. It annoys some people a bit. ^^
