fmilluminati
As the title says. I wonder if there is a way to sort animations that require DAR into some kind of legacy, deprecated or outdated category, since DAR is now abandonware (and because the author won't release the source code, it can never be updated to work with any current or future versions of Skyrim). Also for all those "just downgrade" comments, I have Skyrim AE GOG (as many people do), there is no downgrading as there's only one version. There are still lots of great animations out there that work without DAR, they are just so hard to find because 75% of the animation section has full of "DAR spam". Also, having a different section would encourage modders to make animations without DAR that most people can actually use. IsharaMeradin
DAR is just an instruction set that tells animations in specific folders when to be used. Those animations can be used as direct replacers or in a folder structure that is usable by FNIS or something similar. Just because the animation mod was initially designed for DAR does not mean that those animations cannot be used.

Judging from what I've been gathering and what you're saying here, the "Conditional" animations likely aren't going to work without DAR. Let's say with UNDERDOG animations, which of those animations would without it? Also I've been hearing people say that DAR Version 1.1.0 works with the latest version, or at least that it doesn't give the Warning on opening the game. I haven't been able to find much about this. Only found on the posts for the mod There is no Umbra Chapter II someone mentioning they've tried this, but the special animation for dumbra doesn't work with this version of DAR. Heard anything else about people trying this out with other animation mods? I miss my favorite animation mods, but not really enough to downgrade and try to figure out which of my +700 mods need to also be downgraded. IsharaMeradin
Not installed as-is of course. One would need to either decide which animation they want and put it in the correct location to replace the default. Or they use something like PCEA2. Either way FNIS would probably be beneficial / needed.
Jvp5
Man, I haven't used FNIS since I started using Nemesis. Anyways, thanks for the response. Hopefully with the release of Bethesda's next game they'll stop updating the +11 year old skyrim.
MotoSxorpio
It is rumored that DoodleZoid is working on an updated form of DAR, though since Doodle will be building it from the ground up because there is no source files, the expected release is tentatively estimated for sometime after February.
