i think a big Problem is that a lot of People just dont know whats on the other side of the Coin. How much work it is to keep such a big Homepage running.
Even the Manager itself needs development and all the people yelling just dont know about coding, programming or else.

I totally agree with your post and hope a lot of people will read it and calm down and just enjoy that this Page is going the right direction instead of standing still.

In response to post #10445690.

I don't mind Steam in some ways, but to me it's not ideal. For example some mods once updated are incompatible with save games that include their previous iterations (e.g. SkyRE), so the fact that all the control over what gets updated is taken away from me as a user isn't great. I'm the kind of person that wants Windows to inform me of updates but not silently just download and install things without my informed consent. I prefer when the end user has the choice to make more choices; NexusMods and other modding websites over the years offer that and continue to do so. So while I'm not against a feature in NMM allowing for 1-Click download+updates+installs I would hope that it would continue to be a manager tool and not a simple installer wizard.

A big thank you to the NexusMod Team for all their hard work this week. I hope in the future I'll have a the spare funds to help fiscally support your continued endeavours to make the PC gaming community a better place with more choices for all.

@nate206; you can login to the website even though NMM is temporarily disabled. Use the manual download option, if available, for the mod you want and unzip/place in proper folder. Some complex mods may need to wait for NMM/installer to be available.

@ Dark0ne & drew; Thank you very much for spending your holidays working so hard. Much love & appreciation!

He dont even need for it ... he still can use the offline-mode and use the second button on the left menu to import the mod himself and let the Manager do the work like he downloaded it.
Or even easier just download the mod manual directly into the ModManager directory and he should grab it and show it in the list. (you will also get a little notification that the Manager is searching for Readme Files and links in the new pack)

First of all, Dark0ne, you're the bomb, give the whole team my thanks.

Now..... to all of you whiners, and beggars of unneeded compensation, you disgust me. Don't try and go off comparing this service to an internet provider. All of the things they promise are still usable. You can still be given the fastest download times, there are no adverts that I see. I'm still planning on upgrading to a lifetime even if it is more, because I LOVE this site and the service it has provided.

What will you get back anyway? A dollar or two? Whoopdee frickken doo! If there is any compensation to be given Dark0ne, please keep mine.

All of those supporting this indemnity may say "But it's not about the money, it's about the principle" No it's not. It's about you being inconvenienced in your lackadaisical complacency. It's about you feeling like you have to voice your irresponsible opinion with witty words and seemingly well thought out comparisons to prove a delusional point. Why? Honestly I have no idea. Besides I refuse to indulge myself in trying to unmask the wills and intentions of a cascading society of ignoramuses that are to lazy to cultivate anything contrary to this insanity called "compensation".

"Well they should give us something." They have. This is by far the best site of it's kind. I'm not interested in a quick whip remark from someone listing another site in a lame attempt to chip the steel wall of my opinion, or to damage the effectiveness of this comment.

I'm a beginner to modding. You can look at my post and see I have had plenty of issues with this. Yet I'm still trying to get hold of it, work through it, and do it well. I'm far from good at it I'm still wrapping my head around the right way to install manually, and deal with this. Nonetheless I'm not asking anything from the site.

I will however ask something from those whom I have previously addressed. To lower your demands of a return, of a rebuff of funds based on the understanding that these people are working hard and would work just as hard, even if there was no premium membership. They have given plenty, and the least you could do is give them the benefit of the doubt.

To those who simply do not understand and have requested such a relief, this is only half true for you. Yet please educate yourself, and I mean that respectfully no sarcasm intended. As for the mendicants, I will not apologize in the least.

Again to the TEAM, You guys are awesome, keep up the good work, the rest of us will wait patently for a better Nexus, and enjoy it when it comes.

Posting again for those who missed it

Manual download and install using NMM

download the mod manually
open NMM in offline mode - You do NOT have to log in for offline, just click on offline.
Use the NMM function to add mod from file
- Mods tab, top blue puzzle icon - click on the small arrow to the right of the icon - select 'Add Mod from File'
find the mod you downloaded wherever you put it when you downloaded it.
- If you use the Windows default it will be in users\your_user_name\Downloads
Click on it
Done.

And - this method can be used on other sites that do not support NMM - as long as the mods are in a common zipped format ( nearly all will be) 7z, rar, winzip, zip, peazip and many others will work.
