They are freaking out because they now have to install tons of mods without the metadata which could lead to future problems, lack of update/version notifications, be uncategorized, etc. Plus the fact that manually installing from an archive does not neatly put mods in the proper downloaded list of any mod manager, making it harder to keep track of things.If someone is installing a fresh skyrim right now he will be royally screwed because his 150+ mods have absolutely no metadata so basically his entire setup is just as messy and hard to work with as if he just drag/drop installed everything.
