Game not responding after deactivating and reactivating a mod

Yeah. I've found that (or me) the best way to deal with a disabled mod (and I disable them from time to time for whatever reason, usually debugging), is to

  1. re-enable the disabled mod
  2. re-deploy
  3. and then, and only then, reinstall the mod over itself
  4. and when Vortex asks, tell it to completely overwrite the mod, rather than installing side-by-side.

This ensures (for me for my game) that all ancillary files are still as they should be. If I have to re-tweak its MCM afterwards, so be it. So be it. Better than a hobbled or broken mod. reenabling doesn't always require such "drastic" actions, but sometimes it seems to, so I've made it S.O.P. to avoid being caught off-guard (in cases where I need to disable a mod or a group of mods)

you have to be doubly careful when disabling "dependency" mods like library addons, and masters with addon mods. I wasn't aware (but thanks for that) or haven't been paying attention... that disabling a mod might disable another mod automatically. yikes.
