That's just weird....... Might have a look at the mod in xEdit, and see what changes it makes to build mode.... (though I would have no clue where to look for such changes.....)

I download xEdit, but it made absolutely no sense to me, it tells me i have errors with nearly all my mods, including the Unofficial FO4 Patch?

Check out some of the tutorials for xedit on youtube.

Lol, it's like being back at school, but good idea, i have always wanted to mod a game, my son keeps egging me on to do it

Kids can be like that. Of course, he probably just wants YOU to mod the crap out the game, so HE can play it. :D

Lol, he prefers to play Skyrim, but yeah, if I mod F4, then I can do Skyrim. Well anyway, I loaded up xEdit and watched tutorials, cleaned all my mods with The British Consulate installed, ran the game and as soon as I came out of w/shop mode, I CTD. Disabled the mod and levelled up to 5, started Tenpines Bluff quest, saved as soon as I spoke to Matthew Tenpines. Activated The British Consulate mod again, ran down the hill toward the station, and guess what, yup, CTD. This mod is seems like the culprit. I did notice others was having this issue back in 2016, thought the modder might off fixed the errors, but nope. As of now without the mod, I am at level 11 without a CTD.

Thanks for the help @HeyYou

Isn't modding FUN! :D

Lol, I doubt it is fun, more like a headache, it's up to people like the community to find these bugs and get the modders to fix them. But once i learn the basis of how to mod by watching the videos and tutorials, I'm sure it will be fun to begin with, then frustration will creep in and the headaches will start.

All good, but worth giving it a try only for me to say that I have actually achieved something. Although back in the 80's i did some coding for a game called Q-Bert, now i enjoyed that, so modding cannot be any harder as you don't physically have to code.

Hah. You are so wrong.

Papyrus. For a lot of stuff you will absolutely have to do some coding.

But, you're right about frustration being a part of it, although definitely fun as well, and when you succeed it can be very satisfying to see and play around with stuff inside the game that you created yourself.

If it was all just frustration, why would anybody do it?

There is no substitution for learning how to find conflicts and address them.

Why? Because probably nobody has the same mod list you do.

Now you can see who the "Collections" are geared to.....

Personally, I easily spend more time testing mods than playing the game.

Not the intention, but it is what it is.

Part of me likes to troubleshoot, even if I don't know how to fix things I like to know what is causing the problem.

What? You can play this game? :P

Seriously, I haven't really played the game for the past two years. Its ALL just testing mods (my own mostly) trying things, looking around etc.

1/2 of the issue I run into is do I want to use this or not?

A perfect example is the BFv Kar98k mod.

I'm wanting to have a primitive action style of gameplay - no high capacity lead spam - so no Tactical Reload - right?

Whammo, that Kar98k requires Tactical Reload - but the known buggy 1.2 version.

So I test, and I test, and I figure out what mods do I have that aren't playing nice - but one thing is certain.

That is a perfectly animated low capacity, hand loaded (or stripper clip) bolt-action rifle - it's the PERFECT fit for the style of play I'm looking for.

Ugh. Out goes the Mosin, out goes the M1903 Springfield - because once you see a perfectly animated weapon there is no way on the planet you can go back to looking at the other animations that were making due. But now I'm short on weapons of that style to use to replace the lead spam I want to remove.

Sometimes modding can be a vicious circle.
