Does Vortex leave files behind even though you delete the mods?

I can't figure out why Vortex leaves behind files. The whole point of vortex is to help automate the process but it seems to leave behind files at which point I have to manually figure out WHERE. Is there some option I'm missing? It seems to just leave the files behind leaving me the impossible task of identifying which ones are related to the mod I uninstalled.

Is there a solution to this?

I have had Vortex leave .esp files behind after mod deletion, but due to the length of time after I installed them, I can't be sure that they weren't files I modified myself in SSEEdit, or 'modified outside of Vortex'. You could try using the 'uninstalled' filter on the Vortex mods page, then cross-referencing with the files in 'open game mods folder' option at the top of the mods page in Vortex, looking for matching .esp files.

Vortex doesn't "leave behind" any files that it deployed. However, if a mod/tool you use creates files and dumps them in your game folder, Vortex will not remove those.

This includes tools like Nemesis and others that don't integrate with Vortex or allow their outputs to be remapped to the staging folder.
