removing some/all of weapons/armor in FOOK

ive been playing around with some fallout mods and fook is pretty good as a game changing experience - but im not so sure about all of the weapons / armor avalible in he wasteland. is it possible to remove some weopons/armors and leve other content in FOOK

 

i just want to change the game a little - not a lot :)

Fook uses leveled lists, edit the leveled lists to make weapons not to spawn, or spawn more, or spawn less, or spawn elsewhere or at another level.

 

ok great sounds good - where do i edit these lists - in FOMM or elsewhere - im new to this :)

 

can i also edit the npc weapon avalibilty?

Grab the GECK from Beth's website, make sure you install it to the game's main folder (the folder that has Fallout3.exe and FalloutLauncher.exe in it), otherwise it won't work. This is only a problem if you install to a location other than the default though.

 

And npcs use draw their equipment mostly from leveled lists, so editing those will edit the npcs that use them. You can find them under Item > LeveledItem in the GECK. You should also check out the Getting Started section of the GECK wiki and follow the My First Vault tutorial, it'll give you more or less everything you need to know about getting started edting stuff in the GECK.

hmm - can someone elobarate on how i can totally remove a gun item from the game from fook - i can remove textures etc but the gun still shows- even if i select delete in GECK

 

i understand what the levelled lists are but not how to edit them to acheive my needs

No, do not delete the gun, or the texture, or the sounds nothing of that.

 

 

Right click the gun, click on use info, see what stuff uses it: if it's placed somewhere on the map, it'll be there, if it's on an npc's inventory, it'll show the npc there, and if it's on a leveled list, it'll show the leveled list.

 

You want to remove it from the npc's inventory and the leveled lists. Just double click it on the use info little window and it'll show.

 

 

 

That will make the weapon stop spawning, already spawned weapons will remain ingame, removing weapons altogether is likely to cause issues if you don't know what you're doing, which, you dont.

You do not make the changes on fook.esp, you make a mod that lists fook.esm as master and do the editing there, then place it late on the load order.
